Video from Crooks & Liars: "A week before the publication of Bob Novak's article made "Valerie Plame" a household name--the Office of the Vice President was obsessed with press accounts of an ambassador's trip to Niger and that the vice president and Libby were intimately and repeatedly involved in trying to manage the spin on the story."

3. That's the longest I've seen David Shuster talk
without taking a breath.... goodness the man can talk....
and he's appearing to be an impressive journalist.

This sounds more damning than Watergate. Wow.

7. Isn't Matthews one of the six reporters who received the leak?
Edited on Sat Jan-27-07 12:03 AM by rocknation
Novak (CNN) who actually reported the leak
Matt Cooper (Time)
Judith Miller (NY Times)
Russert (NBC)?
Matthews (MSNBC)?

And if I'm right, should he and Russert have been reporting on the Plame leak in the first place?

UPDATE: I am right! From E Pluribus Media:
October 6, 2003 - Newsweek reports that Chris Matthews of MSNBC's "Hardball" was the journalist who called Mr. Wilson and said, "I just got off the phone with Karl Rove who said your wife is fair game." At the very least, those familiar with the conversation said "it was reasonable to discuss who sent Wilson to Niger." (Newsweek, Oct. 13, 2003 issue)

P.S. What's with the "confidant" crap? Libby was Cheney's EMPLOYEE. Is this some sneaky attempt at minimizing Libby?

2. Chris Matthews seems to just not be able to wrap his brain around
the concept that "Cheeny" has committed treason.

6. All I can say is....damn
Fitz is earning his pay. He has done some marvelous groundwork. He & his staff have gathered a remarkable amount of information. Seems they turned over many, many rocks to get to this point.
