gee, you'd think that McClellan was the only credible media critic in the whole world.

People have been bitching about the media rolling over for the propaganda drumbeat for war for more than 5 years. But now _Scott McClellan_ publishes a book that says they did a shitty job, and the media drops everything for self-examination??!!!!

Brokaw exonerates himself, of course. He says "there was just a 'feeling' that (Hussein) was a bad man".

Yes there was, Tom. Yes there was.

1. They're human
and egotistical. Eventually, they must have to look into themselves and maybe catch of glimmer of why the hell then got into journalism in the first place. Could it be they had some sense of decency, fairness, and duty to a higher moral standard. Surely there is life beyond the yearly Correspondance Dinner.

12. As a "journalist"
We would be better served if he did some INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING rather than waiting in the studio for the White House to send over his news co-anchors. And then in retrospect, to claim "we didn't have the INFORMATION", puts the emphasis on "INVESTIGATE".

4. Brokaw
Oh, PLEASEEEEE.

NBC and all the other national news media had access to militery experts. If you had done your job and asked, they would have told you that it would be impossible for Saddam to deliver an atomic weapon on this country. An atomic weapon is not like other weapons, it needs a delivery system. Saddam had no Air Force, no Navy and no Missle that could reach the US.

Moreover, the US was patrolling the upper and lower thirds of Iraq with planes and our satellites were watching constantly the middle part of Iraq where the UN and US had inspectors on the ground.

SORRY TOM, THAT'S JUST MORE BULLSHIT FROM THE NATIONAL NEWS MEDIA. WE'RE NOT BUYING YOUR PROPAGANDA AND SPIN.

You are also telling us that you are morally and intellectually dishonest.

You are imploding with more lies.

9. That's another thing that people forget--the spy satellites.
I remember watching reports of some satellite techie showing images of people in Afghanistan walking around. They were able to identify Osama bin Laden in some of those images.

Now, if you can identify individual human beings with this satellite technology, certainly, you can track any production and transportation of weapons in Iraq, can't you?

Unfortunately, critical thinking is a dying skill with too many of us in America, thanks to the dumbing-down process inflicted on this country from the media. Keep us informed on Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton and other celebrities. We don't need to engage in any exchange of information on Iraq, the economy and other real issues.

5. Brokaw is full of shit bringing up Iraq's so called nuclear capabilities.
Brokaw and all the other media bigwigs knew years ago that Iraq's program had been over 90% decimated following the 1990 Gulf War and he knew that the IAEA and the UN report on Iraq's WMD capability showed that it had no been reinstituted. He, like the others, jumped on the flag waving post September 11 bullshit wagon and helped lead the American population into a fiasco that hs led to the death's of over 1 million innocent Iraqi people. The UN report from 1990 has been online on the UN website all along. Yet he chose to believe Bush and Cheney? I call bullshit.

6. Also Brokaw says it was more "theology" than anything else.
What the fuck is he talking about. Sounds like he's just trying to pin some BS to cover his own ass. Such a brave man. Maybe he could have done his job in the first place instead of covering for a corrupt administration. Just in case you were wondering Tom, you suck.

7. No Tom! I should have done your job. YOu didn't say much of anything. Unknowable my ass!
People are dead because you sat on your purch and let a sitting president lie to you. I'm sorry I don't believe Tom. If I knew Bush was lying he should have asked Bush if he was being forthright. He should done more research!

10. Brokaw is a loser
Invoking the nuclear fear-mongering is a lame excuse because it was a lame justification. Gee somehow we lived with the USSR and thousands of nukes pointed at us...oh surprise some still are? Brokaw was once a journalist but he must've lost his way after making his millions.

11. What a goddamn liar.
The CIA didn't know? Are you fucking kidding me, man? The White House suppressed every qualification and maybe the CIA was telling them about Iraq and then forcing the foreign intelligence services to parrot the propaganda.

I know this. Why does Brokaw pretend he doesn't?
