Economic Report:

Hiring is continuing to drag at small businesses. The National Federation of Independent Business reported this week that small business hiring has remained weak for 27 consecutive months. 11 percent of small business owners reported unfilled job openings in April and only 14 percent intend to create new jobs during the next three months. The report says that the primary culprit is weak sales trends.
