We've got a boat. In the fall we fill it with gas so as to avoid condensation forming in the tank over the winter. The boat holds 216 gallons of gas.
In the fall I filled it at $1.87 a gallon. Today that gas has a street value of $3.14 a gallon.
When I filled that boat the gas had a value of $404. Today its worth $678. So using today's Republican logic I am $274 better off today (my personal wealth has increased) than I was just a couple of months ago. For this I am supposed to thank George?
Reminds me of a picture I've got of a cat lying asleep in the kerb with a cigarette its mouth, a bottle Budweiser tucked under its arm and a few empties lying nearby.
and consequential price jumps here in the UK a few comedians started buying petrol in cans and storing it in their garden (yard to you I guess) sheds in volume. Needless to say need a few unfortunate incidents aka explosions soon put a stop to that. You're in fortune circumstances having the boat (ship ?) to fall back on if need be. At least that's a safe way to store it. Sure was a good investment though albeit an accidental one.
