Where does "THIS " money go??
I've wondered about this for some time. When a company is fined for some problem that involves the "law", what is done with the money collected. Case in point, in todays Boston Globe, an Associated Press article indicates that Boeing will pay a 15 Million dollar fine for exporting military technology. The article goes on to explain other fines Boeing has paid for other violations. Who "pockets" the money? Same question for other companies that are fined for some serious violation. Do they ever pay...and to whom?

1. Those type of fines
are punitive in nature, rather than redemptive, i.e we will hurt you financially so you play by our rules. The money is usually paid to the government after it is negotiated down. Typically to whatever agency is responsible for oversight in the area of question.

I know that's not very specific, but thats' what I can add.
