9. I do NOT like the way the MSM portrayed it as entirely political
because I think it is much more. It is specific and portrays exactly what we should do

There are so many issues where we are on the right side, and hopefully this is the first step

Democrats Offer National Security Platform

By LIZ SIDOTI, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 17 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Eyeing House and Senate elections this fall, Democrats are stepping up their effort to cut into the public perception that Republicans are stronger on national security.

Congressional Democrats vow to provide U.S. agents with the resources to hunt down
Osama bin Laden and ensure a "responsible redeployment of U.S. forces" from
Iraq in 2006 in a national security policy statement House and Senate Democratic leaders were announcing Wednesday.

"We need a new direction on national security, and leaders with policies that are tough and smart. That is what Democrats offer," Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said in remarks prepared for delivery Wednesday.

His counterpart in the House, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (news, bio, voting record), D-Calif., said Democrats were providing a fresh strategy — "one that is strong and smart, which understands the challenges America faces in a post 9/11 world, and one that demonstrates that Democrats are the party of real national security."

1 pm news conferance ET Dems (on security issues)

The major shake-up and its changes come just in time for the White House, since House and Senate Democrats target what they call President Bush's "dangerous incompetence" on security issues while proposing what they call a "tough and smart" alternative at a 1:00 pm ET press conference at Union Station in Washington, DC.

8. Im trying to see where this is good trying to out Republican the Republica
ns here. This is all about building more war toys and essentially creating more needless death and further dismantling citizens rights. Am I wrong? Please show me where.

"The test is: What happens to the individual who dissents? In Nazi Germany, he was physically destroyed; here, the process is more subtle, but the end results can be the same . . . Huey Long once said, "Fascism will come to America in the name of anti fascism." I'm afraid, based on my own experience, that fascism will come to America in the name of NATIONAL SECURITY.
