Success Story! Air America Phoenix is back on the air!
Edited on Sat Mar-25-06 03:53 PM by saracat
Thanks to all the locals listeners and advertisers who contributed the money , we have brought AAR Phoenix back. It will be on a different station but we have thwarted the Christian Cooaltion(who bought out the last location and refused to sell time) and are back on the air April 3rd. Read below for details and please continue to help. We cannot afford to be silenced!

Friends,

I come bearing good news.
We are proud to announce that starting April 3rd Air America Phoenix will return to the airwaves.
Our new home is at 1480 AM KPHX.
We will be carrying all of your favorite Air America personalities plus Dr. Mike Newcomb in the morning.

Thanks to all of you who contributed to the effort. This has been a remarkable effort and perhaps the most intense three weeks of my life. In the end we were able to negoitiate a better deal than we were first offered to get us in the door. We are not out of the woods yet. We need to raise more funds to finish paying the lease. We will be continuing the pixel drive in hopes to offset some of the money we have had to borrow to get on the air.
Go to www.saveairamericaphoenix.com to contribute.

Thanks again and we look forward to talking with you on the air.

Jeff Farias

going to the AAR website, and either subscribing to Premium (to access their archives) or buying merchandise.

7. No! Please go to the link indicated. AAR National does not give any money
to the local stations. We had to raise the money ourselves without their help! Contribute to your local AAR affiliate directly if they need help and please contribute to AAR Phoenix! They have targeted us!

40. I sent in a couple of small donations, & I'll send in a larger one today
Though I'll probably never hear the AAR channel in Phoenix, but I know it's needed and I'm happy it'll be there!!!

Nothing like sincere dedication, it's beautiful and necessary.

Thanks dude!!!

14. To avoid some confusion here!
Phoenix CITY LIMITS make it 6! Just city limits, NOT overall metro area.

Now, for overall METRO stats mcgillicuty, Phoenix STILL comes in pretty dang good:

1) NYC
2) LA
3) Chi-Town
4) San Fran/San Jose
5) DC/Balitmore
6) Miami/Ft. Laud/West Palm (aka HELLHOLE!)
7) Dallas
8) Philly
9) Houston
10) Detroit
11) Atlanta
12) Boston
13) Seattle
14) PHOENIX

So if I am off on this, OH WELL! You GET THE IDEA!

And it has been 1,933 days since the Rehnquist Supreme Court illegally allowed this illegitimate takeover of our Government by the RoveBushCheney Fascists. If we don’t impeach the entire cabal now, we may never get rid of them!!!!!!!!!

26. Agreed - City limits give a different impression than metro area --
I was still surprised at Phoenix' size and at the all of the southern/red state cities - really validates Howard Dean's 50 State Strategy.

23. Pretty flat land here
and AM signals travel much better than FM due to their concentrics. Especially at night. Also depends how close a strong Tuscon station is on the spectrum to wash them out.

But you can bet the fundies will not stop trying to shut down AAR wherever they can. It means a lot that they are putting so much into trying to supress AAR.

38. Are we talking about the same show?
You actually like the whiny toned, wishy washy show host? He has no back bone and agrees with virtually every caller no matter what is said. The day he voices any real strong opinions and sticks to them will be the first time. I guess to each his own though. I find him utterly un-listen-able.
