Distracting The Eye
For the last year, whenever there is a discussion about how badly B*** is doing by the punditry, there always comes a moment when someone says, yes but look at the Democrats and how inept they are. What exactly are their positions blah, blah, blah.

What I would love is for whatever participating Democrat is in on these conversations to do is call them on it. Say, "stop trying to distract our eyes from the complete and abject failure of the Republicans. The republicans control all three branches of government and the problems are all theirs. We haven't been allowed a say for 5 years so stop trying to duck your problems by trying to point the finger at us."

They should keep the focus on republicans and each time the host tries to do the blame the democrats game, the response should be, "What are you kidding me?"

1. Good points
but we MUST give them a viable alternative!

3. At this point a small gerbil would be a viable alternative.
The Republicans actively screw things up. At the worst, Democrats - even the least skilled and most inactive of Democrats - just sit around and don't do much. And we Democrats do have some very skilled and smart people to offer, like Al Gore.

2. Hey, girl! Good to see you.
And, thanks for saying this!! I get so peeved when I hear this song and dance, especially the part about dems 'have no message'. What hog wash!

How about fiscal sanity, real education, labor laws that protect individuals etc.

Howard Dean seems to be the only one who's quick with the appropriate comeback!

A joy to meet up with you, as always. Was watching Tweety with Buchanan & Milbank after seeing Dobbs with Blankley and Duberstein. It was the same old same old, those dems are as inept as they come. Don't look at the abject failure over there, look at the democrats.

4. More democrats
should study the debating tactics of Minister Malcolm X.

8. A clue:
even loud-mouthed jerks like Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly speak differently to those guests on their shows who are representing the Nation of Islam. That raises a question: why?

People should read and -- if they are able to -- listen to recordings of Malcolm debating. He was perhaps the single most talented American when it came to the art of debate.

10. You're Right
(of course) They do speak to them differently. Afraid to mess with them.

9. How can the Dems be described as "inept" when we are out of power
for the past five years? More projection by the repukes? And the "Liberal" media won't put forth our positions! They pound on us every chance they get and then some. But nice try by the Party that IS in power!
