Hoodwinked
Let's face it. Even I thought for a moment that the UAE port deal was the epitome of Republican corruption. Yet, as it turns out, was simply a Rovian mind-control device at boosting the image of Congressional Republicans in an mid-term election year. I'm almost ashamed that I didn't see through this before hand, thus, many Americans have been hoodwinked.

Now the question(s) that begs to be asked: (a) How do we go about proving this was the plan? (b) Who is this American firm that has been appointed to take these operations from DPW?

2. Don't think so, UAE is furious and will withdraw billions in
US investments, but I am glad because if Bush was planning to stage a war against Iran,
he would need UAE as a staging area and I do not think that will happen now.

4. Oh, Junior will still attack Iran, never fear
He'll just have to do it without UAE's support.

7. I heard that there is a real move to buy up our country
lock, stock and barrel with all the money that Bush sent overseas by outsourcing America,
I am glad that they will not have the ports but it will cost us in the long run. Bush
and other clever Republicans have turned our America into the "ownership" society but
the owners are all overseas investors, God help us.

9. Careful now
Some here will call you a conspiracy theorist, like it's a bad thing. And then they will forget all about calling you that when we all learn what you said to be true.

Nothing surprises me anymore. I'm quite sure all the neocons have property outside the US. They will squeeze every last dime they can out of us then slip away quietly before they can be prosecuted.

12. It's not a conspiracy theory
everybody knows that we have a huge trade deficit and we have outsourced a tremondous
amount of manufacturing jobs overseas, so what are foreign countries going to buy with
the dollars we send them. They already own the factory and produce the goods we buy,
they have taken over many of the companies that outsourced the jobs in the first place.
What is left but the infrastructure of this country and its real estate.

3. I've been asking for some time how this thing ended up on the TV
The P&O bidding war was sliding under the radar in the "business" sections of newspapers since at least last November. This would normally NEVER have made it to the nightly news.

It's always seemed suspicious that the corporate media went from talking Dick Cheney Shoots Whittington, to KABOOM! Dubai Ports World.

6. I think it would be difficult to find a time in history...
when your Party was divided over such an issue, that you could find any way to call it a victory. No doubt they will try to make lemonade out of this, but it is a lemon for Bush and the Republican Party.

10. This one is going to blow up in Rove's face.
And I'll tell you why. Democrats, in 2006, no longer have to run against a Republican Senator or a Republican Representative. At this point, any smart campaign is going to be "Democratic Candidate VS George W. Bush". That's the winning message. Shuffle out the administration cronies. Republicans are in Bush's pocket. They don't even have to run against the other guy. They can just run against Bush's terrible record. It's not going to matter which incumbants decried the Dubai deal. What's going to matter was that Bush was in on it, so it was a Republican effort.

Rove has perfected the art of oversimplification, and it's going to bite him in the ass this November.

13. This in no way boosted republican image
It's put the spotlight on how bad port security is...it's put the spotlight on the Bush crime family's business deals in countries tied to Osama...it's put the spotlight on how republicans are selling our assets to other countries...it's put the spotlight on how republicans put business before national security. I highly doubt we were hoodwinked.

16. Ya Know... I Think You Are Absolutely Correct !!!
Although I was reveling in what looked like (and partially was) a right-limp, er... I mean limb... er, I mean wing... feeding frenzy, today I watched the future talking points that the Rovesters plan to use.

Duncan Hunter (the dude that was gonna make sure this never went through) was on several shows today, and the gist of his jism was, "The president was ill served by these low level cabinet cronys, and although the REPUBLICAN congress had the unsavory proposition of having to save the president from himself, WE DID !!!

So please... do not blame the president for his actions, but give us credit and YOUR VOTES for our actions.

Thank you... that is all...

Maybe...
