In FIVE years, Bush has RECESS APPOINTED 51 officials
And that's with HIS PARTY CONTROLLING CONGRESS.

In 8 years, Clinton averaged less than 9 per year, and Bush is already averaging over 10.

Now THAT's POLITICAL CAPITAL!

BTW,
Poppy Bush made 77 in 4 years,
Reagan made 243 in 8 years!!!, and
Carter made 68 in 4 years.

2. And appointing unqualified political donor hacks
Paid for by our taxdollars. I'm surprised he hasn't gotten Kenny Boy Lay on the tax dole yet.

3. actually I think Chimpy has made over 100 recess appointments
he's definitely running somewhat ahead of Clinton but behind Reagan. BTW, Clinton made 140 recess appointments, for an average of around 17 a year (around the same as Carter). Reagan averaged 30, while chimpy is in the neighborhood of 25 per year I think. Its a constitutionally approved process, but its really being abused, IMHO. Even Clinton, who I strongly supported, joined the process of tainting recess appointments by making 40 of them in the final weeks of December 2000, just before he was going to leave office. If (when?) chimpy does the same thing, we'll scream bloody murder and chimpy and his pals will just point out that they're not doing anything new, which sadly will be true.

4. If there were true tax reform, we could allocate our tax dollars.

I can dream, but it's still a great dream and idea as far as tyrant appointments. Their qualifications suggest that they should be paid X or not. The Presidential war should only cost X.

I know we're supposed to leave these "oversight" matters up to our "elected" representatives, but they stink of the * cabal.

6. He's not afraid of losing confirmation battles.
He's afraid of his people being asked questions about policy and experience. It's the top secret, none of your fucking business presidency. He would rather do without than submit to the constitutional advice and consent even as his senate republican lickspittles would confirm Bush's horse, if he had one.

7. Making recess appointments in January...Congress should be IN SESSION now
It just makes it easier for Bush & Co. to make these midnight appointments.

8. We should cut him some slack...
Bush hasn't learnt to count that high! He doesn't know that 55 is more than 45! He probably thinks he's outnumbered!
