Iraq News Isn't so Good Today
I ws just out on al Jazeera and Iraq Daily and Iraq Breaking News and it is not good. About 34 people have been killed by bombs.

And all of the sites are nervous. Not only is this not good for Iraq but it could spread clear across the Middle East and everyone from there realizes that.

We really are not getting good News coverage from the Middle East. It looks like all the various groups are getting ready for civil war - just in case.

This is just a huge mess. And it just seems to be deepening daily - we just aren't hearing that much about it.

2. Where is our news?
The only ones I see that really try to cover stuff well are on PBS.

I just don't understand why the News people don't put out what is really the truth? Are they really that afraid of Rove and his dark forces or Cheney and his dark forces?

I just am not getting this at all.

Who Benefits?
Dahr Jamail
Dahr Jamail's Iraq Dispatches

Friday 24 February 2006

The most important question to ask regarding the bombings of the Golden Mosque in Samarra on the 22nd is: who benefits?

snip

British Prime Minister Tony Blair stated that those who committed the attack on the Golden Mosque 'have only one motive: to create a violent sedition between the Sunnis and the Shiites in order to derail the Iraqi rising democracy from its path.'

Well said Mr. Blair, particularly when we keep in mind the fact that less than a year ago in Basra, two undercover British SAS soldiers were detained by Iraqi security forces whilst traveling in a car full of bombs and remote detonators.

snip

He goes on to discuss media coverage of violence...worth a read.
