well he isn't in the service now but he was in iraq.. ok here it goes he was a mechanic (a scab mechanic )
well i saw his dog tags and i said
Me: "oh you are in the service?"
Him: "yeah i was"
Me: "Did you go to Iraq?"
Him: "I got out right before the fall of saddam"
Me: "oh thats good... so how do you feel about it now?"
(my coworker knowing how i feel about it just shot me a look at this point lol )
Him: "we should be out of there now"
Me: "Really.. hmm"
Him: "Yeah we got what we wanted to do .. we got the guy who was behind 9/11.. so now its time to get out"
Me: "In Iraq??"
Him: "yeah"
Me: "In Iraq??? "
(my coworker shooting me another look)
Him: "yeah after 9/11 alot of people joined to get back at what they did to us on 9/11..yeah and we got saddam and whats his name"
Me: "Bin Laden?"
Him: "yeah.. we got them now we need to come home"
Me: "oh ok.. well good to see that you came back home safe and sound.. good luck to you"

he is in the service and still doesn't know that 1. saddam had NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11
and 2. that we didn't get bin laden

and now my coworker wanted me to say something about him being a scab but i told him that if i didn't say anything about how he didntk now what in the world he was talking about in the war why would i say something about beinga scab worker???
all i could do was wait till he was out of ear shot and just muffle my yelp of banging my head against the galley wall
ok i just had to tell ya ll this story

1. Can't even reason with several family members

Several are in the armed forces. They tell me point blank that their officers tell them that Bush was a decorated fighter pilot and Kerry shot himself to get a purple heart. Oh, yeah, Sadaam caused 9/11, too...

16. I recently talked to an Army guy who just returned from Iraq, and

when I mentioned Halliburton he said "what's Halliburton?" My jaw dropped to the floor, and I told him he should Google Cheney/Halliburton so he would at least know what he was fighting for. People in this country really are uninformed.

6. Thank Goodness my son did his Army duty.........

......while Clinton was in office. In fact he had the choice of getting his military duty out of the way under Clinton or waiting. Keep in mind while reading this that the republicans were dogging Clinton about one thing after another and so I knew they were determined to bring him down. This also happened before 9/11 obviously but I still knew what was coming. It didn't take much to figure out from there that the next WH resident would be a repuke.

I will never forget what I told him because we turned it into a bet between us. My son has always been convinced I'm a class one "conspiracy theorist" but of course I won the bet. Either way he listened to me though, Thank Goodness.

I said, "Mark my word son, you volunteer and do your military service now and you likely won't be involved in any war. If you wait a couple of years there will be a rethug (that's what I call repubs) in the White House while you are still in the military. That's when you'll suddenly find yourself in some country with a rifle in your hand, fighting to stay alive, and wondering what the crap happened. Then it's going to be much too late. So do it now and get it out of the way."

A couple of times since Bush has been in the WH Army recruiters have come calling asking if my son would reenlist and offering ever increasing reenlistment bonuses. Considering he is married and has my grand daughter he could indeed use that kind of money (in the thousands). He has always told them "no", "crap no", and "under Bush hell no". Needless to say, I am so proud of that kid and have made a point to tell him that too!!!!!!
