Need some great DU Snark responses to this wingnut spam :
> During WW II, the Japanese were searching for a way to demoralize the
> American forces that they faced. Their psychological warfare experts
> came up with a message that they thought would work well. They gave the
> script to their famous broadcaster, "Tokyo Rose," and every day she
> would broadcast this same message packaged in various ways, hoping to
> have an impact on American GI morale. What was the message?
> It had three main points:
>
> 1. Your President is lying to you.
> 2. This war is illegal.
> 3. You cannot win the war.
>
> Does this sound like the democrat party of 2006, led by the likes of "San
> Francisco Rose", Nancy Pelosi? Soft on defense? Soft on national
> security? Soft on crime? Party of wusses?
>

I know Tokyo Rose is pretty much a fictional character and proves what idiots my "repuke" friends are. This one was especially mean spirited and would love the pleasure of responsding TO ALL on this email, or should I just reply : "That's Democratic Party of 2006" (snort). Thanks all :hi:

the Japaneese government was telling everyone in Japan that they were winning the war. it took the removal of two japaneese cities for them to realize they wern't winning the war.

2. Try this:
1). Fortunately, World War II is over. But for the sake of argument, our involvement in it was based on facts that were readily verifiable. K?

2). Go Cheney yourself.

4. Well, you could simply ask them to refute the three issues
Ask them:

When has * ever told the truth?
Why is this war legal?
How can we win?

5. Uhmmmm. Pearl Harbor really happened, didn't it? And then
Germany declared war on the US? Right? So Iraq attacked the US? This poster really needs to start reading beyond just listening to the right wing scream on tv and radio.

6. In 1945, that was propaganda.

In 2006, it's simply accurate information.

On Edit: Democrats soft on National Security? 9/11 happened on Bush's watch.
Soft on crime? The criminals who bombed the WTC during Clinton's term are in prison.
Soft on Defense? Bush has cut benefits and recuitment is down.

7. I think I would point out
That what got Germany Japan and Italy in trouble in the first place is following leaders blindly and never questioning them when they were wrong. In the case of Germany and Japan they took oaths to the leader and the emperor to fight to the death no matter what and it cost them dearly. The Italians were only a little smarter and dumped Mussolini early.
And that is the strength of America is that we can and do question our leaders and do not stand for them lying to us and doing things that are immoral and illegal.

11. Well, This Gets My Vote For Best Answer
Do we WANT to be Germany or Japan, or do we want to be U.S. and Britain during WWII? It's that simple a choice. One side questioned it's leaders and the other didn't. One side got creamed, the other didn't.

Toguri was introduced on the program, which usually began with band music, as "Orphan Ann," "Orphan Annie," "Your favorite enemy Ann," or "Your favorite playmate and enemy, Ann." Following are comments reportedly made by Toguri for a program broadcast in October 1944: "Hello, boneheads. This is your favorite enemy, Ann. How are all you orphans of the Pacific? Are you enjoying yourselves while your wives and sweethearts are running around with the 4F's in the States? How do you feel now when all your ships have been sunk by the Japanese Navy? How will you get home? Here's another record to remind you of home."

Toguri's average time on each program was about twenty minutes, duing which she made comments similar to the above, and introduced popular records of the day, such as "Speak to Me of Love," "In a Little Gypsy Tea Room," and "Love's Old Sweet Song." The remainder of the program was devoted chiefly to news items from America and general news commentaries by other members of the broadcasting staff. Toguri's salary at Radio Tokyo reportedly amounted to some 150 yen per month – about $7.
