Gary Berntsen and Ralph Pezzullo talked about their book Jawbreaker: The Attack on Bin Laden and Al Qaeda; A Personal Account by the CIA's Key Field Commander, published by Crown. In the book he co-authored with Ralph Pezullo, Gary Berntsen, former CIA field commander, talked about his effort to catch Osama bin Laden during the recent war in Afghanistan. He explained that insufficient responses from the administration led to the escape of Osama bin Laden. Mr. Berntsen also detailed his hunts for the al Qaeda leader, including missions that occurred 15 months before the September 11th terrorist attacks. During the presentation, Mr. Berntsen and Ralph Pezullo urged bi-partisan cooperation in order to defeat global terrorism. Following their remarks, the co-authors responded to questions and comments from members of the audience.
