The REAL state of the Bush economy - read it and weep!
I put several polls online asking those on DU what they've experienced under the Bush Administration. The numbers are pretty horrifying. I don't think participants on DU are significantly different than the rest of the US population, so think about that when you look at the overall economic effects illustrated in the polls below:

1. Americans are NOT getting the healthcare they need.

DU Poll

2. Americans are NOT adequately covered by health insurance, and the health care crisis is hitting them in the pocketbook:

DU Poll

3. Americans have suffered severe economic effects since Bush took office:

DU Poll

Think about these numbers, folks. The US is in really bad economic shape, regardless of what the Bush Administration is telling us. Granted, this is an informal poll of DUers, but I think it does make the point nicely.

1. Point Well Taken....
Unfortunately we're dealing with a media, and STOOOOOPID public....well, at least half of them.....so that poll is not completely accurate.

Most people in this country truly believe that they're doing wonderfully, so long as that's what the media and gov't. continue telling them. I mean, if you constantly hear that you're good looking, you can grotesque, and still THINK that you're god's gift to beauty.

2. It might be much worse for non-DUers
As liberals, DUers tend to be better educated and therefore are more likely to have better paying jobs with benefits. I think it's much worse for the average John or Jane.

Hourly folks I know who are making above minimum wage are still only making $10-15 and hour, which translates to $20,000-30,000 per year. Hardly a wage that supports a family with any kind of health care costs, even with insurance and I really don't believe that most folks can afford insurance even if it's offered to them.

There are folks at my own company who are only making $24,000/yr after 10 years with the company. They only stay because of the benefits. Their spouses usually make more money than they do, but can't get benefits at a decent rate for whatever reason (self-employeed, company doesn't offer it).

3. But there has been no sex in the Oval office. A shooting here and there,
but no sex. Remember that the Reformed Fundamental Chirch of Republicanism's purpose is to stop sex and increase violence.

Have you seen the news lately? It's working: riots in every ME city. Haiti, people are taking to the streets. Even in America, crime is increasing. Heck of a job Smirky.
