This place is one of warm welcomes and good 'ole family made up of strong-willed individuals! It's become a home to me, also...and the good will is often both warm and hot enough to make the computer display seem like a fireplace screensaver or a burning bright flambeaux!

Even though there is the occassional tussle, all we really throw at each other is beads, doubloons and empty plastic go cups~ hope you feel at home.

For a virtual porch, it's fine place, I have found. Come sit on the swing and have a cold sweet-tea on me, DeltaLady, I'm new too...but I do so love the company.

Your sig line is singularly true: America's most unique city. How could we not each and every one of us throw in a hand and help rebuild your joyous, hospitable, and historic home.

So many times New Orleans has welcomed us with warmth...it is time we threw down with some real love, and help the Crecent City rise like a eventide spring moon.

I think we 10 million San Franciscians living on a fault line know very keenly that we are a sister-city to New Orleans.

Some ride streetcars half-way to stars, and some ride those named "Desire"
Both cities, though fragile, are far more strong...and gracious in their power.

6. Having visited your delightful city,

I can attest a kinship of spirit exists between us. Both cities have known calamity and tragedy, and both have persevered. As I sip that wonderful sweet tea, I will reflect upon how blessed we are to live in places that have retained a sense of community. It's almost as if we do not dwell in "cities," rather a melange of small towns that have merged into a social fabric in which we take great comfort and civic pride.

Speaking of contibuting to the rebuilding of NOLA, what's your take on the Grishams' charity, Rebuild the Coast?

I've been giving to their charity because the Grishams put up $5 million dollars of thier own money for administrative costs, thereby ensuring that ALL collected money directly to help the rebuilding efforts.

Do you know of any charities that are doing the like for NOLA?
