The Bush Regime will not be sanctioned for the numerous violations of the FISA Law. In fact, they will be allowed to keep breaking that Law.

1. Congress will change the FISA law
Instead of any sort of consequences for breaking the law, they'll change the law and give Bush more power. It's perfect.

4. They will give away their part in the balance of powers required,...
,...to hold together a democratic nation?

If they do, their repentance will NEVER make up for the potential consequences. I saw an earlier post about, "what would you do if you were a Nazi after WWII ended?" I thought that,...a fascinating inquiry,...in these times.

5. They've already done it IMHO -
Abdicating their war-making power was the point of no return. Republicans act more like Bush's employees than the Congressmen they are supposed to be. I don't think anyone in the Republican Party even fathoms losing power - their intent is to remain right where they are. The Nazi question....I don't give Republicans enough foresight to even comprehend it.

7. I don't think they care,...about the consequences.
They are too enthralled and enmeshed and stupid,...in the fruits of power,...to consider the consequences.

They are digging their grave and ours,...and just do NOT perceive what they are doing because,...they are having too much fun thumping on the "losers" and playing the freakin' field.

They're sick as hell.

2. Of course he will. Dictatorship is so much easier without those nasty,...
,...political or humanitarian or intellectual opponents whom can be blackmailed or harassed or eliminated.

Check.

3. This is my fear...
That Congress rewrites the existing laws and makes it retroactive.

6. Congress is ruled by Republicans who've been fighting for power,...
,...a long time. Now that the Republicans have that power, they are D-R-U-N-K from it and they are really screwing up this nation. I reckon they'll just have to learn the hard damned way and take all of us down with them before they TANK!!! Even then, they'll deny and NEVER recover,...back on the road to dominance.

I'm sorry. I am just sick of the "win for winning" sickness I have witnessed from the Republican party. This nation, our people, our impact upon this world...isn't a fucking football game, for Christ's sake!!!
