Actual headline: "Terre Haute K-Mart evacuated on terrorist threat"
That pretty much sums up the new America, doesn't it.

TERRE HAUTE — Authorities said Saturday around 4 p.m. an unknown person entered the Super K-Mart on the south side of Terre Haute, claimed to be a terrorist and said he had a bomb.

1. Well we have always had nuts saying they had bombs
now they are calling themselves terrorists. Back in 1978 when I worked at a state office building in Maryland we had one bomb threat after another. People calling in twice a week. It got so the director wouldn't evacuate people.

3. We used to get bomb threats every time midterms came around at Cal.
We evacuated Wheeler Hall, waited until the building was cleared, and went back to work.

9. Those were the days. When freshmen called in fake bomb threats
and presidents didn't.

11. A girl in my school got busted
She went to the office, asked to use the phone and called the high school down the street to make a bomb threat, while the school secretary sat there listening to her.

18. Really -- don't you long for the days when your president could frame
an English sentence and didn't fail to top Artie Johnson on "Laugh In"

I do!

lol

12. We had them in high school all the time
Usually somebody got bored or didn't want to take a test that day. Plenty in the spring, never one when it was cold and raining. If we'd ever had one in December, it might have made me nervous, because no student prankster would want to stand in the cold and damp for half an hour. But it was always nice, we'd go visit in the parking lot until the all-clear was sounded.

Needless to say, many years and many more bomb threats later, the school's still standing and nobody's ever found a bomb, but it's an easy way to get some fresh air and a break.

As for the bomb threat at Kmart, my guess is it's an employee or pissed off customer. Probably an employee.

6. When are we going to figure out that what our government is doing
makes any bomber a nuisance in comparison. And we are paying them to do it.

7. Terre Haute is the new Ground Zero
Only upside is all those nasty mythical jihadis will need to come to a consensus about how Terre Haute is pronounced...

10. Creepy? Just imagine sitting down to Photoshop this
I went thru several Bush potraits before settling on this one. It was a grim experience.

14. I hear you. I worked with that horrendous obscenity of an image
where Junior is wearing a vaguely uniform-like blazer and has soldiers behind him - famously, he has the same soldier behind him photoshopped in more than once? Remember that one? I tried to put him in a tux, "full dinner jacket". But, I must be a weenie because I couldn't stand to look at him long enough to do it.

You're a better man than I am.

17. To quote the last legitimately elected Oval Office denizen
I share your pain. Working with the Chimperor's face is easy on one hand because he invariably has a stupid expression on his mug, and hard on the other hand because his very existence is objectionable.

16. let me guess: a fat woman in leotards yanked her kid off the floor by one arm, shook him, and
made a terrorist threat to spank him.

I've seen that at every K Mart, Target, and Walmart I've been in.

They should have child protective services as greeters.

19. Eh. Oklahoma City was a terrorist target.
You don't have to be a Muslim foreigner to be a terrorist. All that story says is that local nutjobs have a new claim to make.
