13. GU?
I don't know what that means. I'm saying that I have a lot of problems with Hillary Clinton, and I don't like the fact that some people equate NOT wanting her to be president with WANTING a Republican President.

Two very different things. Look, if I lived in a swing state, I may not have the luxury of voting "no confidence", but I do, so I won't be filling in an oval for someone I can't stand.

People here seem to think that's tantamount to voting for Brownback or whatnot, but my state is gonna go blue. I don't live in PA.

You don't like Hill fine. You don't vote for the nominee you're voting for the Rethugs to win.

"We" support the best candidate for the job where I vote from. "We" HOPE that person is the democratic party nominee, but "we" are sometimes disappointed-- and take our votes elsewhere.

30. "situations that will never happen...."
Lieberman came "this close" to the white house in 2000, and there was a strong contingent of Lieberman for prez support on DU and elsewhere in 2004. No, I don't think it likely that he'll be anywhere close to the nomination in 2008, but the OP's point is a good one, and not nearly so far-fetched as you suggest. Hillary Clinton is not that far away from Lieberman, IMO, and presents many of the same difficulties.

if it allows traitors like Lieberman and Zell Miller rise to the top.

The Democratic Party is afraid to hold it's leaders accountable. When DINOs get bashed for appeasing Republicans they say "We must have a large tent".

I don't agree with that logic, you can't allow Benedict Arnolds and Quislings to rise to the top in this party while true progressives are sidelined.

He won't even have a shot in hell at re-election.

And he did such a bang-up job last time he ran for President. (Remember his three-way tie for third place in NH?) Heck the people in CT didn't even vote for him then!

He's cooked. His only hope for a continued life in politics after this term is jumping ship formally. That's why I think he's hoping to be asked to the prom by McCain.

There's a lot of buyer's regret here from the people who did vote for him this last time. Not that they weren't warned...
