We are having some real problems in our country and it's not Bush's terra

chimeras. Just in my community alone two tragedies happened this week because of unaddressed problems with drugs and health care. Last week a father, high on meth, crushed his month old twin babies he had lying on his chest when he fell asleep and turned crushing and suffocating them.

The man was visibly devasted and in tears when he appeared in court for arraignment. We are having a real problem in this country with meth and yet there is nothing being done in Congress to put through bills to build clinics and half way houses to help these addicts find their way back. Yes, and we need a better brand of law enforcement to close the meth labs and arrest the dealers. Instead we have half assed remnants of the stupid war on drugs from the Reagan era.

The second tragedy was the shooting in the Post Office in Goleta a couple of days ago. My zip code is one that has been affected and we have had no mail this week. But this isn't why I'm upset. All the deaths were tragic but most tragic was the 28 year old mother of a year old baby. The woman mass murderer, who killed herself as well, it turns out was certifiable. People who knew her said she was irrational much of the time, and often talked to people who weren't there. It sounds like schizophrenia or whatever it's called today to me. Isn't it possible to control this with medication?

Yet, why didn't this women get the help she needed? Could it be she had no health insurance and couldn't afford to get the help? Those people died because no one cared about the mental state of this woman and they died because they went to work.

Yet, all the loon in the White House could talk about last night was human animal hybrids, making tax cuts permanent, winning wars, just wars, while those scary women wearing T-shirts about his Iraq war were evicted and humiliated.

We have got to get our country back on track and take care of our problems at home. No more oil oligarchy.

2. No I haven't really looked up any stats. It's just these incidents

happened while * was having the mother of a dead soldier, another tragedy, arrested because he didn't like her Tshirt. I just had to talk about it.

3. Meth, Smack, Crack/etc, it don't matter..to the Pubs: they hate to spend

monies on Treatment, Rehab, and/or CURE.

They want their tax cuts knowing full well these cuts affect research/aid/funding to all the helpful activities mentioned above.

They want peeps ignorant and left behind at the train station to a better life.

They are NOT ALTRUISTIC but instead...SELF CENTERED DOGMATIC ASSHOLES caring only for themselves...blind to the big picture...

THE PUBS ARE BAD NEWS and its catching, seriously contagious...like in Ebolaesque....

There is only ONE Path to take in re to subduing SELFISHNESS.....the Goodness Path....make it happen....and the world will sing...

Find ways to get some of the PUBs to LISTEN....which is almost a LOST ART...those guys don listen for shit...and that is a huge hurdle/obsticle/mountain/etc to overcome...Peeps just don wanna listen.....

Find ways to make ALTRUISM Known and sought after...its the Goodness thingy...

Its the ultimate sacrifice...yourself for the good of all around you .....which is ....Humanity.

Some call it sharing...only in this level...it takes sharing to new and higher levels...

Come, we walk the beach, sand and waves lap at your toes...smell the salt air....the flowers/vines.....NAH...! We go eat!

been hurting the mentally ill and drug rehab programs.

Helping those groups isn't as important as imperial wars. :sarcasm:

But the Republican attitude would be it is THEIR OWN FAULT they are on meth or whatever drugs, and THEY DESERVE JAIL, NOT REHAB.

8. It's gonna get worse with the budget cuts that were just passed.

The compassionate conservatives just cut 39 billion to medicaid and student loans (among other things).

Why the hell is it that people can't look around and see what the rethugs are doing to this country? They've had control of the White House, the Congress and the SCOTUS for the last five damn years. I mean, isn't it obvious to most astute individuals that things are getting worse, not better? And that someone must be responsible and accountable? Damn...... WTF does it take?
