but as witnessed by some of the unbelievable dolts that called in to CSPAN WJ today, there's still a big segment of this country that doesn't.

19. Actually, these are the only Repubs left to call in.
And since C-Span has it arranged so they take a Dem caller and Repub caller alternately, half the time you're going to hear the rankest of the rank, the dregs of the Repub party still supporting El Residente.

Edited on Sat Dec-30-06 11:11 AM by tblue37
http://news.aol.com/topnews/articles/_a/iraqi-government-executes-former/20061229140609990001
U.S. troops cheered as news of Saddam's execution appeared on television at the mess hall at Forward Operating Base Loyalty in eastern Baghdad. But some soldiers expressed doubt that Saddam's death would be a significant turning point for Iraq.

"First it was weapons of mass destruction. Then when there were none, it was that we had to find Saddam. We did that, but then it was that we had to put him on trial," said Spc. Thomas Sheck, 25, who is on his second tour in Iraq. "So now, what will be the next story they tell us to keep us over here?"

27. That sums up worldwide feeling.
If more Americans knew just how the world views America lately, I suspect we'd see bush leaving the WhiteHouse earlier than expected.

Hell, we could perhaps work on actually improving our image by improving our behaviour, as a nation, rather than just spouting propagandistic lies only swallowed by Americans.

32. the only thing I might add to this otherwise excellent cartoon
is gwbushit behind liberty with his middle digit up her ass. It is bushits desire for blood, especially it seems Saddam's blood, that is driving this ugliness. Saddam was an ugly man, responsible for much death and destruction, and who knew nothing of the spiritual beyond that which he could manipulate for his purposes. He deserved to die, but not from the stilted kangaroo court bushit set up. Saddam should have been referred to the world court in the hague, the proper venue I think for this sort of thing. bushit belongs there also, btw.

38. about the cartoonist...
Emilio Giannelli, was born 25 February 1936 in Siena, where he lives and works. He completed his classical studies at the Enea Silvio Piccolomini Secondary School in Siena, went on to obtain a degree in law at the University of Siena and subsequently qualified as an attorney at the Court of Appeals in Florence.

Giannelli was director of the Monte Paschi di Siena legal office and from 1997-2000, he held the position of Director General of the Monte Paschi di Siena Foundation. He is currently in private practice.

Since his youth, he has cultivated the hobby of humorous drawings and caricatures and has published his drawings in local newspapers, news sheets and goliardic publications. In the early 60s several of his vignettes appeared in the “ Travaso delle idee ” under the direction of Guasta.

In 1980, he contributed to Satyricon , the satirical insert of the “Repubblica” edited by Forattini, Bucchi and Bevilacqua. In 1982, alternating with Bucchi, Giannelli began to publish vignettes on the commentary page of Repubblica under the direction of Scalfaro.

In 1991, he moved on the Corriere della Sera and since then his vignettes have been published every day on the front page of the newspaper.
