Bush Taking More Time to Craft Iraq Plan
Dec 28, 4:58 PM (ET)
By DEB RIECHMANN

CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) - President Bush worked nearly three hours at his Texas ranch on Thursday to design a new U.S. policy in Iraq, then emerged to say that he and his advisers need more time to craft the plan he'll announce in the new year.

Burdened by low approval ratings on his handling of the war, the president is under mounting pressure to come up with a new blueprint for U.S. involvement in Iraq where the execution of Saddam Hussein - perhaps as early as this weekend - could incite further violence.

"We've got more consultation to do until I talk to the country about the plan," Bush said, appearing outside an office building at his ranch.

4. When I think of Lincoln, putting in 16 hour days and then, unable to sleep, prowling the White House
halls by night. Bush makes me sick.

5. "We are making good progress in coming up with a plan that will help us achieve our objective"
I had a mgr once that spoke in nothing but buzzwords and action words like that.

He was the most pathetic manager I've ever worked for. Heck, the most ineffective manager I've ever known.

And that same mentality is now the President of the United States.

13. Which translates to how do we make tons o' dough before
the bottomm falls out of this fiasco?

They have to set up some bogus corporations and a few offshore accounts so that Halliburton can make a killing "mopping up".

9. He's working hard!
It's hard work doing that 'consultation' -- you have to listen to people and look interested and stuff!

10. but it's three hours, don't you understand, three hours
he could be out clearing brush, riding his bike, making up nicknames for the lizards. It's hard work having to do something for three hours, he might get sweaty pits or need a bathroom break or something. give the guy a break.

He wouldn't know an hour if Laura's face stopped a clock and it hit him.

12. The idiot
has been telling us since 2003 that he has clear plans for victory in Iraq. Every year, he says the same thing. Well, if his next plan goes as well as the others, we're going to see lots more deaths, both American and Iraqi. We still can't have anything like a victory in Iraq, it's impossible. He took something that wasn't broken, and broke it, and now refuses to accept responsibility.

He has never had to face the consequences of his mistakes, and doesn't know how to do so now. This, however, is a mess that even his daddy can't buy his way out of. Worst president ever.
