1. Bush's Legacy
Is the "Noble Cause" that Bush has on his mind in Iraq now. Bush's Legacy is not worth killing, OR, dying for the way I see it.

Bush ran Away from the meatgrinder in Vietnam.

2. What would happen if all our troops put down their arms and walked away
from Bush'sWar?

We cannot wait for congress and the appointed one to come to their senses and face reality.

5. Dead is never "temporary"...
Edited on Mon Dec-18-06 01:14 PM by Hubert Flottz
I have never met anyone who has survived death yet! Near Death Maybe, but never death.

I'll bet you that James Baker won all kinds of battle decorations, so he should know about everything there is to know about war, like George does...another GOP "Expert"?

6. been reading various articles about "the surge"
something is missing. Yeah, it's a very quiet rabid gorilla sitting in the corner and no one has asked the question.

assuming bush increases the troop levels, and we "surge" into Iraq. (call it the surge and amaze plan as opposed to shock and awe?)

ok so we surge into Iraq - then what?

we shocked and awed into Iraq with no plan for what to do next. How is surge and amaze any different?

7. I think the "Surge" was in oil company profits in the past 4 years...
and the pResident doesn't want ANYTHING to rock that love boat! So Saddle up Sarge, for the Surge!

American soldiers and taxpayers invest ALL the blood and money in Iraq and Exxon/Halliburton/Bush reaps the rewards! = Bush's "Noble Cause"

8. true
but to my original question - what's the plan for after the surge?

so we send 20-30k more troops into Iraq, then what? sit around waiting for a cakewalk pagent? take a shower in the flowers? wave at all the people greeting us and thanking us for liberating them from ourselves?

this sounds like "shock and awe part 2"

11. The time for the massing of manpower in Iraq was the invasion.
30,000 troops won't stop anything there now. 300,000 might have then. All Bush is doing now is selling his daddy's bombs and bullets to the government, helping Halliburton and the other the other "Contractors" keep fleecing the taxpayers and helping Big Oil steal Iraqi oil and he needs more security to pull that off!

Whatever happened to all that oil the neocons said was there to fund the war? Did it evaporate?

12. But, it makes it look like he's "doing something".
The "stategery" isn't about the war, or even Iraq, it's about politics. As usual.

14. I'm proposing a snappy name for the "surge"
can't just call it the surge... needs a better, catchier name

invasion of Iraq was dubbed 'shock and awe'

so I'm proposing we call the surge plan "awww and shucks"

15. When Congress convenes they should put an end to this insanity. I don't think they will.
and they will be blamed for their complicity right along side the almighty junior.
