Mother's Of Fallen Soldiers
I wanted to post my opinion about the contrasting values we saw on the SOTU address last night.

First we saw one Mother who believes this administration is to blame for the death of her son, she was taken away in handcuffs.

Second, we see the another Mother who agrees with Bush and this administration and she is getting the royal treatment, applause, probably dinner, the whole VIP treatment.

How is it that the first Mother lost just as much as the second, but was treated with such disrespect, when she too paid the same price as the other. Did it really matter what the politics were, only that their children are dead now?

One more angle to this story. This is being seen and told from the eyes and heart of another Mother whose Son is currently fighting for this country in Iraq. I hope and pray that I will never have to endure the loss these Moms have, but if I do, I pray I am treated better than Cindy was....

5. They do deserve better, but apparently that mother doesn't think so
"Let's see, have my son back, or meet the president...."

3. I see the topic for my next LTTE
Dogday, this war is going to be "won" by mothers-just like Viet Nam.We mothers of soldiers in Iraq,or wounded in Iraq, need to speak out as well.My letters have always, for the most part, been well received by my Neocon local rag.I'd like to think that maybe I'm bringing one or two people around.

4. You are right, It will be Mothers, Fathers, and other family
members who will stand up and say no more. I think it may be time to organize our DU members who have family in this war.
