Here's a suggestion for Senator Clinton
Show some OUTRAGE about Iraq.

She needs to call a press conference and slam the President about his lies on WMD, his failure to provide our troops with body armor, about how nearly 3000 Americans and 650,000 Iraqis have died for absolutely nothing.

Not that I'm a Gore supporter (I'm undecided at this point) but for those wondering why Al Gore is loved on DU while Senator Clinton is loathed despite their similar positions on many issues, I can point to one very important reason.

Remember Gore's 2004 speech at the moveon.org event? Remember "How Dare they drag the good name of the United States through the mud of Saddam Hussein's torture chambers." Gore went in front of a TV camera and screamed as loudly as he could what millions of Americans wish they could but can't because they don't have access to the media. Passion like that is more attractive than any list of votes or ratings from liberal groups that you can pull up.

I guarantee you that Senator Clinton would gain the votes of thousands of people who are reluctant to support her because of the war if she would just show some ANGER once in a while.

1. As Atrios (quoting Poppy Bush) would say...
Na Ga Ha Pa.

2. This is right on target.

If Hillary would renounce her previous position on Iraq, and her vote on IWR, many of us progressives would forgive her and be a lot more tolerant of her candidacy. I'm not saying that I would support her, since I still think that she's running for the wrong reasons, but it would radically change the dynamics of the situation if she would make such a renounciation.

3. Excellent suggestion. She said that * did "just about everything wrong" but she needs to show anger.
Iraq is the worst blunder in the history of the US. Senator Clinton should act accordingly.

4. Does she FEEL outrage about Iraq?
I'm not sure that she does. If she tries to show outrage without actually feeling it, I'm not sure your suggestion would work. Feigned anger on her part won't entice me to vote for her.
