How long will we go before we call our new Senators DINOs?
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 06:06 PM by Ignacio Upton
While I'm glad that we have taken the Senate, I won't be surprised if people like Bob Casey and Jim Webb get called DINOs because they might disagree with us on some issues. McCaskill just said "maybe" to voting for Bolton, which gets me a little peeved, but a "maybe" isn't certainty. Hell I expect Tester to vote on some things we won't like, and Ben Cardin and Sherrod Brown voted for positions that they were blasted for (extending the Patriot Act and the torture-enabling bill, respectively.) No matter what though, I would rather have our new Senators than the douchebags that could have beaten them.

1. As soon as they start acting like DINOs
Just because they have a (D) after their name doesn't protect them from criticism if they sell out.

4. I'm not saying they should be immune from critcism
But someone here call a person a DINO and compare him/her to Lieberman or Zell based on one issue alone. For example, Obama, because he voted for Condi as Secretary of State.

5. In her defense...

McCaskill then said that he would have to be for (a long list of things)...

And Tweety said "HA... that's the opposite of what Bolton stands for" and she had this little shit-eating grin on her face.

She isn't a political newbie.

And right now I'll take DINOs over the alternative any day. A lot of things are controlled by the committee chairs and having the majority is just so important.

6. McCaskill has become the first target
She said she'd probably support the confirmation of John Bolton.

Personally, I won't call her a DINO, but I'm less than thrilled with that statement.

10. Some of them are.
That's why the celebrating will be short lived. Pretty soon we'll have a tough vote and conservative Senators from swing states won't be there for us.
