Should Harry Reid Ask Moderate Rs To Switch To D In the Senate?
Promise them a few chairmanships and ask them to switch parties. I'd feel better with a 54-46 advantage in the Senate...and
it would serve to strip Lieberman of his newly ill-gotten power.

7. Those were the 3 I was thinking about.
Specter has been attacked by rabid RWers and is a thron in the side of bush, even if he always ends up supporting
RW policies.

9. Snowe will NEVER become Democrat
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 10:48 AM by LostinVA
I have a very good Mainer friend, and we've talked about this. She said Snowe would consider that dishonoring her family's legacy in Maine.

However, she votes Dem more often than some "real" Dems.

6. They are certainly welcome to...
...caucus with us and join a coalition with us in my book. For them, R is more of a label.

8. Don't they always ask?
'Course, there's a better chance of it working this time around (although I think it's still slim), because who wants to switch from the majority to the minority?

10. They could do a Jeffords; go Ind. and caucus with Dems.
But I doubt they'll do it.
