Republicans love you until you're born.

They prayed in churches, all around the country this week, to preserve the unborn.

What about these children? Are they not God's children, too?

1. Of course not! Can't you see they're different colors? They live in a
different country?

4. It just doesn't make any sense
It doesn't make any sense that they support George W. Bush and the seemingly never-ending war(s) in Iraq...and Afghanistan.

3. NOPE, Only fetuses are worthy of their prayers.
Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 11:42 AM by in_cog_ni_to
I was at a Dick Durbin rally here a few years ago and the first thing I saw when I walked up to the rally area was 2 RW ANTI-CHOICE women holding signs with pictures of a fetus. One of the women walked up to me and said, "Isn't it sad how many children were unable to live because they were aborted and are not able to attend this rally?" (something stupid like that) and I said, "NO. What's sad is all the starving, homeless children living on the streets who have already been BORN that YOU don't care about." She spit and sputtered..."uh, uh, uh ...well, they should be cared for too" and walked away. They don't give a rats ass about unwanted, poor, homeless children. My favorite retort to their anti-choice bullshit is, "How many children have you adopted?" That shuts them up REAL FAST.

7. Tsk Tsk! Not the RIGHTgod
If their parents weren't worshiping a PAGAN god, maybe we'd think about it.

10. Is that really what you think it is? Or, do they simply...
...turn a blind eye to it? Either way, it's very sad.

8. womb to tomb - words of a nun in Pittsburgh
I read on DU last week a LTTE from a nun in Pittsburgh that was fabulous - she made your point, and said what about the poor, the kids, the sick, the elderly - would not a prolifer want to help those people?

She also said something that I've heard before and say myself - no one likes abortion - let's focus on reducing the number of abortions. She said, if you criminalize abortion, what is the penalty, death to the would be mother - how is that prolife?

12. Well, there you go...
...thinking all logically. Why so few people can grasp their minds around this is what completely bewilders me. Why?

17. Actually the republicans want it to be a "technical" crime
they do NOT plan to prosecute the would-be-mothers..just the physicians and hospitals..

and most likley it would be FINANCIAL punishment..

That;s the kind of punishment that wealthy people fear the most...loss of money..loss of job that MAKES the money..

They don't care one whit about the blob of cells of a 12 wk pregnancy...and the surely don't care about the woman who has no support, no income, no hope..

People forget..the real row over this is the FEDERAL funding of abortions for poor women.

Rich women have always been able to get abortions..even when they were legal..

They have turned a financial issue into a moral one because they knew it would "play" to the base.

9. I agree with the saying that the Republican concern for life
begins as conception and ends at birth. Don't you dare have an abortion, but if you have the kid, then you're on your own. "You're on Your Own" really is the over-all Republican motto, unless of course they need your kids as cannon fodder for their latest misadventure, burdening their future with an incredible debt to repay.

13. Wow..
You said it well, too. "Cannon fodder." Never quite heard it said exactly to-the-point like that...but, it's true. :-(

11. George Carlin said it best: They care about you before you're born.
Once you're born: You're on your own...

...Until you reach... Military Age!

Then they love you again!
