Screens already flipping votes in Miami
This article from the Miami Herald cites two voters who voted for Dems only to see the screen flip for repubs.
The other democratic county, Broward, has no plan on swift action if problems arise. (BOE Superviser Snipes is a "democrat" appointed by Jeb.)

"Mauricio Raponi wanted to vote for Democrats across the board at the Lemon City Library in Miami on Thursday. But each time he hit the button next to the candidate, the Republican choice showed up. Raponi, 53, persevered until the machine worked. Then he alerted a poll worker."

" Debra A. Reed voted with her boss on Wednesday at African-American Research Library and Cultural Center near Fort Lauderdale. Her vote went smoothly, but boss Gary Rudolf called her over to look at what was happening on his machine. He touched the screen for gubernatorial candidate Jim Davis, a Democrat, but the review screen repeatedly registered the Republican, Charlie Crist..."

1. Do the Repugs votes ever switch to Dem candidates?
Does anyone recall reading about where Repubs votes switch to Dem candidates? I'd be curious if there is any history or evidence of that.

is a catch-all term used by the writer William Burroughs to refer to all the right-wingers, religious nuts and general fascist scumbags...

26. "The Democrats are the only ones complaining."
I can hear it now. This "talking point" is certain to come up and be repeated ad nauseum. And there's a 'base' on the right that will swallow this and shift the blame the 'lihbruls.' The almost total absence of logic and valid thinking processes is a plague in this nation.

3. Those voting machines may be the ace the GOP
is holding up their sleeve. May be why Rove states that he isn't worried about the upcoming election. There are many ways to sway elections - but this in one of the most sinister. Cannot wait to see the upcome HBO spacial on hacked voting. I predict that they will loss a lot of close elections & the repukes will blame them on the voting machines. I can already here their wining... :) & they think we wine. Just wait & see

telling everyone about how the Repigs are a Fraud.

Evidently you haven't seen the threads here about how and why Bev Harris was Tombstoned right here, and is a laughing stock on many sites.. she even rolled over and started pal'ing around with the Freepers..

Real Class act.

7. So do you just give up?
You have to provide help and not depend on one person to solve it.
This year is different in that there is much more awareness of the "glitch" problem. And if you capture it, you can upload it to youtube for the word to see. There are many things you yourself can do with that kind of evidence.

it's insulting as hell to have someone assume i would do nothing, "just give up".

you have no idea, now do you? of course not, how could you. so...

please have respect and assume the best and all is cool.

imply i'm lunchmeat and i'll bite-back a little juat like anybody else would.

and I apologize. You should know that it was not my intention to be condescending, and I should have used the word "one" rather than "you".
But I thank you for reminding me that I should get back to the medium I do my best work in. Good night, and good luck.

That's why I will never vote for him again.

He'd make one hell of an AG, though.

12. Bring cameras/video tapes folks to the polls! Film your own vote experience on these screens and
interview people if there seem to be people there complaining. We need to get everything on record and share it in masses to show there was massive fraud. It's like the pix from Abu Gharaib...no one believed that there was abuse and torture going on until there were photos....

of people wanting to vote repub and then seeing dems on the confirmation screen...

why is it only flipping dem votes? if there's a "glitch" why isn't it also flipping repub votes to dem votes - why is it only the DEM votes are being flipped?

19. For clueless BOE types..."Test these machines' software code...Now!!"
What frustrates election fraud reality theorists most is that the BOE officials "correct" the "glitch" on the spot with what is essentially a re-boot of the machine.

The problem is in the code, geniuses!!

If you're serious about troubleshooting these "glitches", then test the code with a sample election using known vote counts. If it isn't perfect...then take those machines out of service and subpoena the machine's manufacturer... because they are guilty of felony vote tampering.

29. when this happens- tell the election worker they face felony
charges if the sign off on a count from a machine that is failing to properly count votes. and you will sign a complaint.
write down the serial number of any such machine, as well as the number of the seal/s.
we have to get serious about this. these citizen judges/or poor grunt clerks are going along with this shit, signing these bogus counts.

30. I Did This In 2004 As A Dallas, County Election Clerk
No one took action:

Not the Democratic party,

Not the major Democratic candidate,

And certainly not the Republican election judge.

Who you goin to tell that will make any difference?

31. yeah, i know
i started this thread in election reform,

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=455401&mesg_id=455423

and got this info-

Election Protection Incident Reporting: 1-866-OUR-VOTE

more in the thread.
but you have to start somewhere. maybe you will make a long time poll worker go straight. there have to be a lot of them out there that are being told to do things that they know are wrong. just face to face, one citizen to another, maybe some of the cogs in this machine will fall off. they don't look quite so omnipotent this time around.

34. This is why I like the old-fashioned lever machines
That's what we use in Warren, MI at this point in time. It's what I first used to vote-both in real elections and in student council elections (our schools used the voting machines, figuring it would be educational for us).

I've never liked the punch-kind of ballots, whether on an absentee ballot (I voted that way in college) or at the precinct. I always thought that they were hard to line-up, long before the 2000 election. I still lived in Detroit in 2000-they had finally switched that year to a ballot that you draw a line across and feed into the computer yourself. I liked that better than the "butterfly ballot", but still prefer the lever machine.
