Wow! Netroots has gotten safe-seat Dems to give over $4 MILLION so far...
Safe-seat Democrats are sitting on $50 million dollars in campaign contributions and MyDD is challenging each to give 30% of their funds to Democratic challengers and/or party committees. If the safe-seat Dems each gave 30%, it would raise $15 million dollars for radio and TV ads, for hiring people to be feet on the ground during the last week of the campaign. And...

IT'S WORKING!!

Anna Eshoo, Calif (14) giving $115,002
Jim Costa, Calif. (20) giving $87,583
Howard Berman, Calif (28) giving $177,551

Hilda L. Solis, Calif. (32) giving $75,721
Jane Harman, Calif (36) giving $101,798
Grace Napolitano, Calif (38) giving $81,125
Diana DeGette, Colo. (1) giving $60,995
John Lewis, D-Ga. (5) giving $74,192
John W. Olver, Mass. (1) giving $73,361
Barney Frank, Mass. (4) giving $246,359
Edward J. Markey, Mass. (7) giving $708,259

3. .
That is good news. There might not be a better chance to win some seats for a long time. Especially for some Senate seats that would be Repub for the next 6 years.
These are members of the House so it's quite much money for them I guess. Very nice and helpful of them.

I'd love it if they'd kick some our way. Our Democratic candidate has gone from 30 points down four weeks ago to within 9 presently. We have TV spots ready to go, just need money for air time. She can win this thing, definitely has the momentum going, and we could get rid of blow-hard porker Don Young, who is one of the worst of the worst entrenched Republican congressmen. He's been in the House since 1973 - many of us are SICK TO DEATH of him

Diane Benson is a candidate any state would be proud to support. She's a progressive Native-American, anti-war (her son lost both his legs in Iraq last year), pro veteran, seriously supports alternative energy development, is against drilling in ANWR, is ethical, honest, charismatic, articulate. She draws people to her like a magnet. All we need is a little help to get her message out to everybody in this far-flung state, where many people live off the road system, making it extremely expensive to campaign.

I hate to keep begging, but this is really, really important to us here in Alaska, where we are sick and tired of being embarrassed by our representatives in Washington.

Please go here to learn more.

http://www.bensonforcongress.com/

One more thing - at the one and only congressional debate that Don Young agreed to participate in with Diane (KAKM, public TV) and the other candidates, Diane was endorsed ON THE AIR by the Libertarian candidate in the forum, urging his supporters NOT to throw away their votes on him or the other two third-party candidates. Here is his quote...

"If you are upset with how things are, if you are upset about the war in Iraq, if you don't think the United States is on the right course toward freedom and avoiding the Third World War, which none of us young folks want to fight or want our children to fight, I'm asking you to vote for Diane Benson."

Alexander Crawford, Candidate for US House, Alaska

I think it says something important when your opponents even endorse you.

not about you, you can get out of your comfort zone and ask for help from others. Good luck with it!

15. Thanks.
It's been a long, long time since I've been as impressed by a candidate as I am Diane Benson. That's why I have no problem asking for help for her campaign. We would ALL be a lot better off with her in Congress.

27. buddy system?
Maybe you could convince a safe seat Dem in a nearby district to pick up a "buddy". It's good to establish liaisons early on, and even better if regional Dem blocs might be established within Congress/Senate. Phone some campaign Managers/ Dem officials in your area and see if they've already hooked up with Benson's crew, and if they haven't beg them to do so.

Best of luck and keep us updated!

GO DEMS GO!

Steve Rothman, N.J. (9) NJ_09
Has $1,907,609

24. Opps, miss read the chart.
About the only thing Tom Wyka could spend the money on would be TV. Its too late to buy direct mail or lawn signs. Paid canvassers could be done. But Menendez is already paying for 300 canvassers on election day, this monday 16 paid canvassers start in Morris County. Thanks Bob. Thats on top of the 55 or so, that go out every weekend.

25. Senators aren't on this list. Senator Clinton has given at least 2.5 million,
as have other Senators. Senator Obama is campaigning for Lamont. Senators Kerry and Kennedy have kicked in millions.

Don't blame Hillary for the Pukes being incredibly messed up in NY this year. He's the guy who said she had plastic surgery done because she was ugly when younger.

We're going after EVERY office in NY this time.

:kick: Go Ed Markey (D-MA)!

22. I've noticed that the Senators seem to be a lot more tightfisted.
I'm not sure why.
Nelson of FL should have the 2nd easiest night in Nov. (Lugar is running unopposed, so he's first)
Last I heard DIFi hadn't given.
I'm not sure Bingaman, Carper or Byrd have given either.
I read somewhere Ben Nelson had parted with some of his money though.

21. Are safe house seats giving to borderline Senate seats?
I think this is where there is greatest potential. It seems as if we are likely to get the house (cross my fingers I won't regret saying that) so if we could have a lot of this money go to the Senate how sweet it would be to have both houses!

31. Monday Deadline: Help Push Tony over the Top!
http://theunknowncandidate.blogspot.com/

You have scroll down a bit to find the complete article.

"Monday Deadline: Help Push Tony over the Top!

is a true (Michigan) Progressive who is very close to winning a seat in Congress -- but he needs our help to clinch it. If Tony can raise just a bit more money before Monday, he'll be able to run a hard-hitting, push-Tony-over-the-top TV ad against his Rubber-Stamp-Bush-Enabling opponent. A few bucks could be just the nudge he needs to win. If you can give a dollar, that's great! If you can more, wonderful! Times are hard for many of us, and I know it's not always easy to give to every cause.....

Since that late September chat the Blue America ActBlue page has raised nearly $5,000 for Tony's campaign. Not bad for a rag tag grassroots outfit, huh? But is it enough to win him the seat? It isn't. Rahm Emanuel and the DCCC should be helping with that. They're not. Let's really help Tony win this seat......

Look at the Blue America ActBlue page. You've raised nearly half a million dollars and every $5 and $10 and $20 donation was pure grassroots. This is probably the last time we'll come asking for help in this cycle. If you have anything left you can spare, please consider going to the Blue America PAC and donating for television time buys for Tony now. We have to pull the trigger on Monday. So whatever we can raise between now and then, we put on the air. W

HAD ENOUGH? Meet Tony Trupiano"

32. I'm getting more and more optimistic every day...
at the prospect of a Democratic victory. I think we could make Pink Floyd's song "on the Turning Away" a Dem anthem this year:

"On the wings of the night
As the daytime is stirring
Where the speechless unite
In a silent accord
Using words you will find are strange
And mesmerised as they light the flame
Feel the new wind of change
On the wings of the night."

"No more turning away
From the weak and the weary
No more turning away
From the coldness inside
Just a world that we all must share
It's not enough just to stand and stare
Is it only a dream that there'll be
No more turning away?"
