don't remember where (old-timer's you know?). Nader was of the opinion that if neocons won, they would take the country so far to the right that the damage caused would backlash against them. I really can't say I believed he was sincere at the time, although I must admit the idea might be possible - IF the neocons can be stopped before they get a stranglehold on all of us. What has happened since was an "overdetermined" result. Nader's candidacy was one of many factors that contributed to how the 2000 election was stolen, not whether it would have been. Had he bowed out of the race in August, the GOP would have found another way to "rebalance" Florida, of this much I am certain.

He is certainly blameworthy for the role he played, but let us not use him as a blinder to the scores of other players in this sad tragedy.

He mobilized hundreds of thousands if not millions of young people that the Democratic party left behind. They weren't speaking to us at all. IF Ralph Nader didn;t run, there would have been a smaller total vote count, not a victory for Gore. Blame Karl Rov and the Supreme court. Blame Gore for not embracing Clinton.
