US in Iraq announce "success was still possible" in Iraq, as the room goes black

http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/IBO443712.htm

<snip>

Two weeks ahead of U.S. congressional elections that have put President George W. Bush's Republicans on the defensive over their Iraq strategy, the U.S. ambassador and military commander in Baghdad told voters directly via a rare joint news conference that success was still possible, and on a "realistic timetable."

...

The event was broadcast on U.S. television, although a power cut, far from uncommon in Iraq, briefly blacked out the room.

2. Barbara Starr
...managed to keep the blackout out of her piece on that press conference. Fortunately, another CNN reporter came through with video:

3. Wow, you would think wars like Korea and Vietnam would have
taught these sackless lifeforms some reality.

"Hi, we can still win this war if only you folk would stop killing us when we kill you."

"Whoops, a bomb how nice. Well time to leave. Don't try and follow."
