A decent article on a local Senator
I've never been a huge fan of Maria Cantwell, pretty much because of her support of CAFTA, but this article has made me re-examine my attitude.

WASHINGTON – Unless you’ve got 15 or 20 minutes, it’s probably better not to ask Sen. Maria Cantwell about the Federal Power Act’s “just and reasonable” clause or the Mobile-Sierra doctrine’s “public interest threshold.”
She’s liable to launch into a detailed discussion of regulatory and deregulatory models for electric rates. But just as your eyes start to glaze over, she mentions something about a “fox in the hen house” and how the White House reinterpreted the law to justify the sharp increase in electricity prices on the West Coast in 2000-2001.
