Biden Sporting a New 'Do on Wolf Blitzer
Biden is so smart, but I hope he realizes that Chair of the Foreign Policy Committee is where he should peak - maybe the Veep spot, with a Democratic border state governor heading the ticket in 08.

But that new 'do he's sporting today leads me to believe he's seriously entertaining the notion of a run.

If Chris Dodd has an eyebrow-ectomy, we'll know he plans a run too!

1. My understanding is that Biden's new hair actually comes from Dodd's brows
But that's just speculation

3. LOL...A Whole New Organ Donor Program
That made me laugh.

Now, if only we could find a Brain for Bush, a Heart for Cheney, and a Soul for Rumsfeld.

4. Really? The Splash Heard Round the Block
Biden really is a smart, erudite guy.

But not smart enough to figure out how to connect with Purplish-Red areas of the country.

5. Pretty much agree on that
He also has 30+ years of votes that can be taken out of context and used against him. I don't dislike Biden as much as a lot of DUers but I do think that if we want to win the presidency in 08 we will need to think outside the box and pick a candidate that will carry a couple of those Red States. Don't know who that would be at this point, though.

6. Mark Warner of Virginia
Virginia has a strange anomaly in its Governor's office: the Governor may not serve consecutive terms.

Mark Warner is the inverse of Governor Bush: a Democratic Governor who worked successfully with a legislature controlled by the other party.

Virginia has 13 electoral votes. West Virginia shares a long border (and key media markets) with Virginia stations that gave a lot of positive coverage to Warner. WV - my home state - had the 5 electoral votes that could have flipped the 00 election to Gore, and has traditionally been a Democratic "safety state" in Presidential elections.

DC, KY, MD, NC, and TN also share key media markets that gave Warner good coverage. Warner's lieutenant governor, Tim Kaine, succeeded him, and serves as Governor until 2009. Kaine will be a permanent reminder to Virginia voters of Warner's success.

Howard Dean and the DNC should be vetting Warner thoroughly now, with intense opp research. If he passes muster, he's the best bet for a Democratic Electoral College mandate in 08 (and, I suspect, he'll also rock the popular vote).

As an added bonus, Warner actually built a REAL business - unlike Shrubya's subsidized "success".

JMHO.

11. It's Slicked Back Showing a High Elizabethan Forehead
He's using "product," and emphasizing his knowledgeable noggin'.

If he had the white make-up and the bejeweled collar, he could play at the Globe Theatre.
