Whatever happened to the "Bush wearing a wire" story?
Even if he didn't wear a wire during the debates, it's still an interesting story that would explain a lot.

For example, the phrase "catapult the propoganda" reminds me of the game "Telephone," where a phrase gets repeated so many times it no longer makes sense. If he's dyslexic and can't read a Tele-Prompter, then he deserves a little more slack for such malaprops, but if not, why is he so inartful?

Maybe he's just a total moran. Who knows?

But why did that story go away???

1. It was associated with the election

And thus "over".

On Edit:

There are a bunch of stories which have disappeared without a satisfactory answer. They include the anthrax issue, Cheney's secret energy meetings, Bush's records as governor now stored at his Father's library, the squealched item over the funeral company malfeasance in Texas, Gannon, etc.

2. Bullshit
It's not "over."

Admittedly, there are bigger fish to fry at the moment, but if he WAS wearing a wire during the debates OR if he wears a wire on a regular basis that's newsworthy. It's another example of how these people are crooks, and as such, it's a worthwhile topic.

So???

3. Just telling you how the media view it
If you want other examples showing how hollow they are, you've got the infamous "Mission Accomplished" fiasco (flying offshore, holding up the crew's liberty, etc.), the plastic turkey (man what a fit analogy), the made in China boxes when he's advocating American jobs, the guitar and Katrina crap, the selling of the staged picture while in the air for 9/11. I'm of course ignoring the Corporate Welfare scams of Medicaid/Medicare, Taxes, Halliburton Enron/Global Crossing/Tyco, Social Security and the ongoing crime that is Iraq and just focusing on the hollow marketing that shows the lack of class of this group.

5. It's a smorgasbord here on DU

Where do you begin when talking about this Administration? I know I've barely tapped the surface of the crap they've been doing. You have to forgive people if they are easily distracted by other examples of shams this administration is perpetrating on the US population. It's almost getting to be like Fahrenheit 451 - each of us almost need to remember and never forget some aspect of this Administration lest it be lost while they are on the way to the outhouse to use another piece of the Constitution.

6. I gotta say that you're right
WELL before September 11th I wondered if the strategy of the (mis)administration wasn't to do something offensive to a different segment of the democratic base every day, so we could never get our shit together to oppose ANY of it.

One day it's women's rights, the next day it's the environment, the next it's worker protections, the next it's gays, the next it's quotas, and the next it's back to women's rights all over again.

Heinous.

7. They've always played muscular politics
Try and push and take whatever they can get anywhere and everywhere. This was a style change from where they used to focus on one or two major points and try and bully their way across. The Dem leadership I think failed in adapting to a new, more appropriate style of tactics, which would be akin to learning martial arts when all they knew was genteel fisticuffs using the Marquis of Queensbury rules. Reid is getting there, but the Republicans have changed the game for sure.

8. They're WAY more organized than we are
Between "Moral Politics" and "Blinded by the Right" I've really come to fear the Bushmacht.

9. Organized? Yes
They are in better shape, but might does not make right. They also are not very limber and dextrous. A lot of their power comes with strings attached and/or from bullying other groups to do their bidding. They are not subtle and as you can see with Delay and Frist, generally require mob leaders to keep people whipped and bullied. Again the analogy for a street bully (the Republicans) and the need for the Dems to take a smarter approach - for instance you see what happened when Delay started falling apart? The Republicans completely lost their momentum in Congress and became a bunch of rabid dogs fighting each other.

10. Might NEVER makes right
But sometimes I look at how far they've gone in convincing so many working people to vote against their own interests and I just feel dejected.

It's because they've got the corporate and marketing interests on their side. :P
