9. Are you serious? It's $1.99 at a number of places near me! Oh,
I'm in a swing state...how silly of me to forget that for a second! No manipulation here...show's over...move along folks! They'll surely go back up again, just as precdictably as the screaming you'll hear from the morans who decided (they're the deciders) that it was suddenly okay to purchase gas guzzlers over the past 4-6 weeks, because the prices were on their way down for good this time!

21. YES! If the prices are pushed intentionall down
It means they are kept intentionally UP to start with. It does not take a genius to start suspecting that what is going on is a nation-wide Enron scam...

10. the oil companies will cut back on production
Edited on Fri Oct-06-06 11:21 AM by John Gauger
just like they always do when they feel like raising prices. I don't know what Saudi Arabia is doing right now but I suspect they also have increased production with the aim of helping the Republicans. They did it in 2004 to help Bush, but they may not have such a strong connection to the GOP at large. The shutdown of the busted BP Alaska pipeline was timed specifically to maximize profits before the price lowering for the election. They knew about that problem for more than ten years before they decided to fix it, and it just happened to be at the most profitable time possible.

11. Yes
And they will go up higher than they were before. If you look at the pricing pattern for the last 5 years or so, there is a very distinct pattern of the prices going way up, then back down a bit, they up even more than before.

12. My bill went down OVER 50%...
For those who don't pay attention to "timely" pricing changes, they are going to be placed in the mindset that all is okay again. What sad fools.

17. Has anybody done a study
regarding the lowering gas prices. I wonder if the price has dropped faster in Red States than Blue States. I l;ive in WV, and the prices hover around 2.10 to 2.20 here. Just wondering if that is the case over the nation?

20. Not that I know of...
But there are tools economists use to infer causality (not just correlations) among a bunch of variables... I bet that would turn up something interesting. Coincidences happen RARELY. Anybody keeping track of "coincidences" over years could prove statistically that some just cannot be coincidences, that some specific causal factors were in play.

19. Florida here at $2.22
Gas was cheap at $2.22 Reg and Jeb has been on TV recently touting cheap generic drugs with Walmart. I wonder if people still remember the Repugs were responsible for making generics illegal to buy from Canada and stopped negotiations for cheap medications.

They are really working hard for our votes. I hope people don't fall for their temporary bribes.
