Womens are not. Look how the Catholic Church has covered for and protected their priests from being held accountable for their criminal actions. The political powers cover for and protect powerful men, at least those on their own team. This is true in every work environment. Even where rules and laws are enforced, they are enforced unevenly.
Ruining a man's career is equivalent to "ruining a man". One never hears this said about women. Women are still judged by their relationships to other people, especially to powerful men. We are asked to overlook the transgressions of powerful men, as if the power they have accrued should allow them to be less responsible for their behavior instead of setting a high standard.
Well, for me a man's career is not sacred. If a man behaves badly and breaks the law he may ruin his own career but its sickening to elevate anyone beyond simple accountability, including our lying president.
I could go on a rant about men in the academic world, as that's where I learned this- the chairman of my best friends department "initiated" all the entering female students as if it were his right. If they refused his advances they ended up going to another school the next year. All the faculty knew about it and looked the other way. They didn't want to ruin the man, after all, he was a genius.
