I was trawling though the Yahoo! boards today (god, I don't know why I keep going back) and it looks like the BushBots are going to go with that angle to try and take some of the heat off of them.
...y'know- defending Foley by proxy by saying the Dems did it too.

The point is, unless I'm wrong about Studds, it isn't going to help us by rewriting history like the Repugs so often like to do.
Because you just know that the "liberal" media is going to eventually try and "balance" the coverage of this scandal by dredging up a 33 year old scandal.

There's no point in defending sick fucking perverts. A seventeen year old is still a minor. Sure, one could look at the particular laws in an area at the time, but that's not the point. The point is that these are sick fucks preying on kids. No reason in the world to defend studds just because he has an appropriate letter next to his name.

The real story is the level of cover-up, to the highest levels of the repukes' leadership. Hastert should roast for this. Hell, that fat fuck probably has his own pages stuffed in his closet. Hastert, Boehner (sp?), and all the rest who covered for this guy.

6. Studds Wasn't Leadership...Who Acted Quickly

Yep...looks like ya got the talking point already. Cause a Democrat did something wrong 20 years ago, that somehow condones current Repugnicans from allowing a predator to roam the halls of our government. Good defense work.

Look at how that scandal was handled...Studds wasn't the only one who was investigated at the time. So was Daniel Crane...a Repugnican who was caught doing a page...but ya gonna mention that? I didn't think so.

There's a long list of GOOP predators and sex offenders. Some on this list include recent busts of members of the Dept. Of Homeland Security...none of which was ever investigated...and it was up to law enforcement to catch and bust these assholes.

No one covered up Studd's mess...he had to stand in the well of the house and face the music. Foley cut and ran...and now we learn there were at least 4 or 5 senior Repugnican officials who knew about Foley's situation and did nothing. Not just nothing, they refused to investigate one of their own. How do we know Foley is the only predator there? How do we know he didn't follow through on his desires with a page? Many questions that surely will come out during the days ahead and it won't be the GOOP leadership that will be forthcoming.

There's no rewriting history here. And history has no bearing on wingnuts...they weren't part of reality then, still aren't now.

33 yrs ago couldn't vote probably didn't watch the news. so what is the point ? I am 42 I can vote now and would not vote for anyone sleeping with children...forget how close they are to legal or not...illegal is illegal....and well that sort of thing is just not part of my family values....what schmucks.
