Venezuelan leader calls Bush alcoholic, sick
http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-chavez22.html

NEW YORK -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez visited a Harlem church Thursday and promised to double the amount of discounted heating oil his country ships to needy Americans. But he also took another swipe at President Bush.

A day after he called Bush ''the devil'' in a speech to the U.N. General Assembly, Chavez said of the president: ''He's an alcoholic and a sick man.'' snip

Bush has acknowledged that he had a drinking problem when he was young but gave up alcohol 20 years ago.

Chavez also called Bush's policies in Iraq criminal, adding he hopes Americans will before long ''awaken'' and elect a better president. The Venezuelan said that while he opposes Bush, the American people ''are our friends.''

5. Watch Congress come up with a bill trying to limit free speech of
aliens "on US soil." First, they came for the aliens.

6. looking for what he really said
in Harlem, I found nothing. But here is a summary of another speech, in the Bronx:

...

I wondered why Chávez had chosen to be the featured speaker at a church in the Bronx and sixteen other smaller venues instead of a guest speaker at a venue in Manhattan that would get more press attention. I realized that despite Chávez's surface knowledge of how Bronx residents' problems differed from the people of Venezuela's, his numerous mentions of the Citgo gas stations in the Bronx, the millions he has donated to Latino communities hurt by hurricane Katrina (aide that was blocked by the U.S.), and his efforts to educate the local Latino residents in the field of medicine all pointed to a genuine dedication to grassroots organizing.

7. The straw that broke the Camel's back.
There is an enormous amount of criticism being directed at Bush right now. I find it interesting that it's all happening at this time.

Of course....we have mid-term elections coming up.

But it's not just the elections. It's really....Bush. Everybody despises him.
