Regardless of how much of a piece of shit Mr.Bush is, I don't exactly think it to be mature or respectful to stand up in front of the U.N. and say such stupidity. It just comes off as needlessly childish and provocative. It's that sort of behavior as to why I don't trust nor like Chavez. I understand why he has some hatred towards our dumbass leader, but to appear in front of a global panel like the U.N. and use childish smears like 'The Devil' is just in bad taste. I'm just not going to take somebody seriously who engages in such dumbass tactics.

If he wants to show the world that he is a great leader and a respectful man he should not taunt and engage in the back and forth highschool rhetoric. Instead, he should speak in a statesman like manner while keeping to factual points and thoughtful discussion. There is no need for the provocative or childish words nor stooping to Mr.Bush's level. By doing so he loses integrity and I just simply don't trust him, like him or respect him. And this is in no way a defense of shrubby, as lord knows he's a piece of criminal filth. It is the tactics of Mr.Chavez that I do not condone.

So having that said, his remarks were completely inappropriate of a world leader in my opinion.

his words. Bush may be the president of an economic and military superpower, but he has no right to preach to the world about freedom and democracy when he himself is guilty of depriving people of freedom, of spying on his own citizens, and of allowing torture, and he has no right to impose on other countries. Bush is a figurehead of all that is wrong with the US that could be corrected but hasn't.

In some ways, the RW media is lucky he said it, because it gives them something to spin (like Rove saying the memo about Bush's ANG service was typed in a font that didn't exist at the time).

But if Chavez hadn't made that comment, the speech would have been totally ignored, and at least the coverage means that people might read the whole speech....which was EXCELLENT!
