BREAKING: Democratic leaders announce "The Alliance for World Peace"
Edited on Wed Sep-20-06 03:11 AM by peanutbrittle
Members of the Democratic party here in the U.S., Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Clark, Jackson along with other prominent figureheads across the globe announced today the formation of a new and powerful group who's focus will be to bring Christian and Muslim leaders throughout the world together to work towards the goal of fomenting world peace. The new group called "The Alliance for World Peace" is expected to begin work immediately as global unrest has reached emergency and possible catastrophic proportions due to the failures of the current U.S. administrations foreign policies.

The group, based in the U.S., will act much like a parallel government but who's focus will be strictly on foreign policy in order to mitigate the damage done by a failed foreign policy over the last 5 years and with the hopes of starting the process and a new beginning towards the stabilization of the Middle East.

More announcements later

(This is not for real)

Dems should seize this opportunity. Could transform Bush and his warmongers into lame ducks.

6. Kerry proposed such a thing in 2003 and 2004

"Now, on Islam, you know, what's happened is we've allowed the radical Islamists to define what is happening too much, and moderates have been intimidated. What we need are the world's religious leaders to be brought together, of all faiths. I would envision the Pope, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Dalai Lama -- the great religious figures of the planet -- to begin to help the world to see the ways in which Islam is not, in fact, a threat, and to isolate those who are, and to give people the strength to be able to come together in a global effort to take away their financing, their freedom to move, their sanctuary, and so forth."

7. Oh if only that were true!!
I was crushed when I got to the it's not real part. I don't know about Kerry (and that's not a slam) but the others you mentioned certainly have the experience to pull something like this together. Add Carter and send them on tour with the Dalai Lama and others, immediately!
