We know from Corn & Isikoff's book that the OVP lobbied very hard with NBC to shut Chris Matthews up, for his coverage of the Plame scandal and for taking a stance in opposition to the invasion of Iraq. stalking Abrams. I write him each and every time Keith gives one of his commentaries.

Did anyone catch the sick look on Dead Intern's face just as Keith threw over to Joe right at 9 pm? I was reaching for the remote to change the channel and caught just a few seconds of that green, pissed off look in Dead Intern's eyes as Keith went off the air. You know he is jealous of Keith's ratings, Keith's freedom to rant with impunity and the message against his guy, Chucklenuts. And since Keith is "one of the MSNBC family" he can't rail against him like you know he is dying to do. I'm betting Bow Tie, Tweety, and Dead Intern are pissing in their shoes.

It was the fact that he didn't say a word about the commentary at all. I am trying to remember but I don't even think he acknowledged that Keith had just passed the baton to him at all. He WAS a deer in the headlights and probably had to have someone scream into his ear to start reading the prompter for his own damn show.
