Poor republicans in OH 18th fretting over newspaper ratings.
What is one of the biggest stories in the country this week? The Ney guilty plea, of course. You would think that it would be rated as a recommended story in the local 18th district newspaper. Not so. Three of the five "Reader's Choice" stories came from little towns out of our county. One story involved a parole violation. The fifth story about Gradall retirement is significant. The young republicans have been busy rating up insignificant stories to keep the Ney story out of the news. LOL

Readers' Choices
1. Cadiz project cost jumps, officials seek explanation
2. Former captain sent to correctional facility
3. A costly decision: Many Gradall workers must put retirement plans on hold – or change them altogether
4. Job club meeting planned Oct. 10
5. Bus driver cited in crash

If you want to give them fits, go to www.timesreporter.com and click on the Ney graphic. Rate the story highly.

5. I voted the story up, AND voted in the poll that asked the question:
"Is the Iraq War central to the war on terror?" NO: 57.6 Yes: 36.3 It's interesting that the poll has a default answer of "Yes".

Re: Ney--so he's pleading a "drinking problem," as if that explains it all? Hey, it's not like booze costs that much! And he's done some "soul searching"--I hope this maudlin crap doesn't excuse him from jail time.
