Nothing from Riverbend "Baghdad Burning" since Aug. 5, 2006
Her last posting on Aug. 5, 2006 was very depressing to read. She told of how many of her friends are now leaving Baghdad because of the violence. She told of how dangerous it is to go outside of her home.

I am just praying that she is alright.

I know that she sometimes goes for weeks before posting again but this time it just seems like a long time.

1. I've been looking for recent posts from her, too.

I do hope she's alright. I can't help but think that, if she had to leave Baghdad, she'd find a computer somehow.

3. That is what I have been thinking too
If she was out of Baghdad, she would have posted by now. The fact that she hasn't leads me to believe that she is still in Baghdad. She has complained in the past about the scarcity of electricity has prevented her from posting more frequently.

2. I emailed her a couple weeks ago..
There wasn't an answer. It seems the "saying goodbye" column was a "goodbye" to us as well. I hope she is safe, wherever she is.

I've become very attached to her and her family. :(

5. She is probably afraid to post.
She crosses my mind everytime I see anything about Baghdad on the news. I'm hoping the family is being overly cautious and that they are OK. She has certainly made an impact on many of us.

6. I am hoping it's because of electrical outage
I too have been very nervous for her family.
