Could it be that the president is Scared Shitless?
Edited on Sat Sep-16-06 05:29 AM by Philosoraptor
Perhaps we've mistaken his anger lately, perhaps it is cold steel fear running up his simian spine that makes him so pissy and defensive. His demeanor is strained in the last few weeks as he embarks on his series of sales pitches for his product from hell.

He is covering up his terror with harshness and bluster, but he can no longer hide his complete soul shattering fear.

Now what exactly is he afraid of? He never seemed afraid before, but its written all over his ape face, why scared and why now?

Let us count the reasons.

"Permission to land in Pakistan"?

hide it anymore the man is about to blow. One more tough question and he might hit somebody. Of course the MSM will ask it as a question. Was the president provoked?

5. He knows he has begun another Vietnam
He knows that he is guilty of war crimes
He knows he is out of his depth
He knows that as his Presidency draws closer to its end that his "supporters" will abandon him
He knows that Cheney and Rove would sell him out in an instant to cover their own butts
He knows he was responsible for the greatest peacetime loss of life in US history
He knows he is hated by the world - even those in countries nominally his allies

He knows that for the rest of his life he will be regarded as the biggest fraud and liar ever foisted upon the people of a great democratic country.

He knows he is a laughing stock

13. He knows he is set for life.
He's tired of the Prezidentin' but he doesn't have a care in the world because he is a rich powerful sociopath.

After his Prezidentin' days are over he will live a life of complete leisure.

The wastrel rich are destroying our democracy with their greed.

19. I can't disagree with anything you wrote.
As much as I'd like to see him convicted of war crimes, I just don't see it happening.

2. Perhaps it is coming down the pike, and he knows it, that
this administration really did committ war crimes.

17. War crimes against children is my guess. Americans will put
up with a lot because half of us are stupid, but even the stupid won't go along with that.

22. Hmmm, that's an interesting take but I think you are right
But whatever is happening I think this administration is scared. Perhaps the rest of the civilized world has decided that they have had enough of these Christofascists.

3. Maybe he is just un-sure so this is how he acts?
Or maybe he is sure he is right. Or a mix of both. He makes me think of a person that is very un-sure of him self so he gets a thought and will not hear anything else. It keeps that thought safe in his mind. And if you have the power it can make a lot of trouble.

4. I would be pretty upset
if I had to go out to convince enough people that torture was a good thing. He is scared, he sees the end of this and it is not good. Can't blame him for being scared of his future but he did bring it all on himself.

Plus he is nuts.

6. He only has a couple more years to hide behind an office title.
Eventually he has to return to being a private citizen and lose the protection the office affords him legally (although I believe he has broken so many laws to date that he should be punished severely for the crimes against humanity he has committed). Yes, I imagine he's just realizing how much he has to be afraid of.

9. He knows he can hide behind the title for two more years
Then he is another citizen and a guilty man. He desperately needs retroactive protection for his crimes. How would you like the specter of life at Spandau Prison or worse staring you in the face?

11. Can someone this arrogant be scared shit-less?
I acknowledge the possibility but think it more likely that his anger stems from having to deal with people that aren't sufficiently servile.

Many such arrogant men have gone to the gallows defiant to the end. I see Bush as one of those because I also see him as sufficiently delusional about his own greatness that he is incapable of self reflection and doubt.

This "king" may go to his gallows demanding the hangman kneel in his presence.

15. He is a coward. The people that look up to him adore a coward.
So many Americans are so stupid to believe this is a fearless person.

18. I conclude that he is
indeed affraid.Take the wire tapping for instance. If they are spying on us for their own political reason without a warrant, they would have so many law suits on them to make your head swim. He's now covering his ass on the torture issue because they fear not only impeachment, they fear trial of "TREASON"!!!
