The most disgusting Republican campaign commercial to date.
It's called "These People Want to Kill Us." I just saw this spot run as one of the lead-in commercials to Oprah. Prime, prime real estate if you want to scare the hell out of women...soccer moms.

I found the video at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=progress+for+america&search=Search

It's made by Progressforamerica.org

Stop this commercial right now. We cannot stand for this slander.

1. Soccer moms are looking at their soccer sons
and realizing they're 6 years closer to dying in a stupid and unwinnable war of corporate convenience.

This isn't going to work any more.

3. I was canvassing for Tammy Duckworth two weeks ago
The word "draft" came up a lot, often from Republicans, moms and dads. This shit is going to backfire on them bigtime, except in places like the deep south, where a dead son is a status symbol.

5. I'm not too sure about that.
This one is pretty scary, especially for the uniformed. This is a swiftboating of all Democrats. It's running again right this second.

4. I noticed something about the "army" commercials, where the son is
talking to the parent ... subtly racist ...

White kid, telling his dad that he thinks it's the right thing to do (enlist) ...

Black kid, telling his MOTHER that "It's time for me to be the MAN" ... (hints that the black kid is "fatherless") ... typically repukian ...

the south.. the more kids you have the more of a MAN you are..

7. This ad is just downright SILLY!
The voice-over sounds like someone on SNL or MAD-TV doing a take-off of a trailer for a really bad horror flick.

8. Narrowly escaped another 9/11!
But thanks to GW's surveillance.....LOL - I knew it was gonna get bad, but that was just downright rediculous. I think I saw that ad in "V for Vendetta".

10. What is it with right wingers and Orwellian names?
Progress for America is an organization that supports regressive candidates and policies...

So pathetic.

And, by the way, that comment about the Taliban?

Yeah, its true, radical muslims don't believe in women's rights, and governments established on radical Islam give women no rights at all.

BUT NEITHER WOULD CHRISTIANS

And Republicans are actively working against women's rights and the rights of minorities.

11. damn it! not only does the ad piss me off
but it also pisses me off that they are trying to co-opt the word "progress" from us.

The ad... yeah, we're doing such a great job in the Middle East that it's practically all equal-rights democracies with luxury condos.
