FOX: Fed. regulations prevented mine rescue
(please delete if this is a dupe)

Saw this while (briefly) watching Faux news to see their take on this story. Apparently, this will be is the GOP spin on the latest fatal mining accident in the coal mines of West Virgina, that firefighters were prevented by, yes, federal regulations from entering the mine & saving the lives of the trapped miners. That's what caused their deaths, federal regulations. Not inadequate safety practices. Not a gutted mine health & safety inspection system. No. Federal regulations. Jeezus, how do these people sleep at night ?

3. I am convinced that these are not people we are dealing with
They are cyborgs so they do not require sleep (or ethics for that matter.)

4. Fox Blames Henhouse For Missing Chicken
Now I'm not quite sure how much is regime screw-up and cronyism...although I'm certain 5 years of mismanagement has turned the Department of Interior into another FEMA (soon we'll hear about the Gail Norton-Jack Abramoff conections...Susan Ralston, are you listening??)...or if it's the corporate media's latest big thing...since they couldn't find a white girl missing on some island or a helpless whale, a good mine disaster will fill up hours of airtime and carry that "big drama" these people live for...be it the jubilation of miners being found safe or their bodies being brought from below. It's not about the human tragedy...it's the storyline...the ability to fill up lots of hours with cheap programming that gives the impression something is being covered when it really isn't.

OSHA laws have been under relentless attack by the big business side of the Repugnican party and their Democratic party enablers for over 20 year now. We've lived a charmed life in recent years that the neglect and self-centered greed hasn't resulted in greater deaths than we know of...but then on the other hand, most of the suffering in this nation goes on silently...speaking out isn't tolerated.
