I didn't know who it was or who she was talking about, the camera was showing bush. (president bush of course) I just heard the phrase you quoted and someone telling her that her mic was on.

I really hoped that wasn't someone talking about her lover's wife on TV or her boss's wife. Brothers wife is not so good either.

I don't get how that worked. She must have been covering the speech and accidentally turned her mic back on? But it seemed to be heard even by the president? Maybe not. I did just see those few seconds and bush could have been reacting to something else.

Many, many years ago. She forgot to turn her mic off, went in to the facilities while she was offstage, and she had some SERIOUS gastric distress, with a great deal of blasting and plopping, accompanied by moaning and groaning. Every sound was transmitted to the broadway audience attending the play. Initially, the crowd was confused, and then, as understanding wafted over them, they became HYSTERICAL. The coup de grace was the sound of the crapper flushing. It brought the house down.

Poor Miss Alberghetti got a rousing round of applause when she appeared on stage again. One of those "How will I live this down?" moments....

As Kyra Phillips from CNN got stung by a live mic, just a few days earlier, a radio personality in Minneapolis started swearing on a hot mic from a remote broadcast. His audio went live over a Clear Channel sister station. This went on for about 12 minutes.

Wasn't meant for your ears

Listeners who tuned into Cities 97 (KTCZ, 97.1 FM) about 9:30 p.m. Saturday heard an unexpected sound. Instead of a tune from the Gin Blossoms or Matchbox 20, for eight minutes they heard a one-sided conversation between sister station KDWB's DJ J.J. and a Clear Channel board operator. (Clear Channel owns a handful of local radio stations including KTCZ and KDWB.) According to Lauren MacLeash, Cities 97 program director, the off-air communication device that the two were using to converse ended up broadcasting their conversation over the Cities 97 signal. Since the scheduled Cities 97 programming had been pre-recorded and board operators were busy monitoring other Clear Channel stations, the glitch went unnoticed.

"It was an unfortunate incident," said MacLeash. "Most of it was the DJ saying, 'Hey, can you hear me?' Then as they were in conversation not knowing they were on air, he was retelling a story and let a word — that we would never ever repeat — slip."

MacLeash calls the mishap an "accident" and said that the station already has taken measures to prevent another incident like Saturday's from happening in the future.

"No matter if you're on the air or off, if there's a live microphone you don't talk like that," she said.
