What's it going to take to get President Bozo the Clown impeached?
Edited on Tue Jul-18-06 02:18 PM by Cleita
Day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, we must be subjected to this idiot's words and deeds. If our Congress is too timid to impeach him for war crimes and treason, could they at least try to remove him for being incompetent and unable to fulfill his duties as our President because of mental illness and substance abuse?

I am writing my senators and congressman again imploring them to do this. My congressman is a Republican and one of my senators a DINO, but that won't stop me. Please everyone at DU write your Congress reps and senators asking that this President be removed from office under Amendment XXV, part 4, of our Constitution.

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Yes, I know we get Cheney, but Cheney doesn't act like a stoned out buffoon, he just shoots people and will be much easier to get rid of even before he takes the oath of office. I implore you to write your Congressional people every week if you have to until it gets done. We can't afford these people anymore.

Or at least that's how it seems, sometimes.

6. how many times does this have to be said?.................
someone has to degrade themselves to the point of being a 'true patriot' and give him a blow job.

There has to be someone out there who would do this, if promised immunity and/or a pardon!

11. This only works if they are trying to get rid of Democrats.
With these guys you would have to catch them roasting and eating a baby. We have to put the pressure on Congress while they are worried about getting reelected.

4. No, we don't get Cheney
There is more reason to impeach Cheney than to impeach Bush.

Bush may act like a stoned-out buffoon, but Cheney acts like an arrogant Mafia Don. On top of being in on all the policy decisions that should get Bush removed from office and tried as a war criminal, Cheney has also engaged in war profiteering and ought to be charged with conflict of interest for the way he shepherded no-bid contracts of Halliburton though the procurement system.

5. Dictators can't be impeached.
YOur question answers itself. There is nothing he could do that would get him impeached. He's already tried all the stuff that would get anyone else impeached and the media praises him for it.

We live in a fascist state. We're stuck.

Fascists stay in office way too long because of fear. We have to show these evildoers that Americans won't let them do this.

13. In all honesty, I just don't think there's enough time left in his term
Even if it started today, which seems like a virtual impossibility considering the make-up of Congress at the moment, it would take too long. We've got about one year before the '08 election starts heating up. I just don't see this happening. Now, if we get control of one (or more) house of Congress then at least we could open up some investigations. I think that's the best we could hope for.

and all we've ever put our hopes into were each election and in each election we were disappointed because we were playing by the rules and they weren't. We have to do something else. We have to let them know the people don't like whats being done in their name and what is being done to their country except maybe 25% of them. We are the majority and we have to register our discontent over and over again. They don't notice the protests but they have to notice their telephone lines being overwhelmed, bags of mail arriving every week and their emails clogged with messages.

30. Right, Cleita.
That's exactly what I tell everybody. And LeftCoast, I think we still have time. We can start all the investigations at the beginning of 2007 once were back in control and we may be able to get all the hearings and criminal proceedings done in time. Maybe we'll be able to take a year and a half off his term.

18. Publication of certain tapes made at the White House...
...would certainly help.

The fact is, the people that back Bush don't care if he's an incompetent traitor.

They don't care about his sex life.

They don't care about anything except how much money he can help them make.

He's only a front-man for those with power.

You've got the big picture, Cleita. It's "We the People" who hold true power.

We the Peep have been cowed into shutting up, however, by Bush's police state.

Keep telling truth to power and everyone will soon be up and fully awake.

19. Gerald Ford told us exactly what it would take back in 1970
In 1970, then Representative Gerald R. Ford defined impeachable offenses as "whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history."

The whole deal is riding on the outcome of the midterm elections.

20. This is why I'm begging people to put pressure on Congress
Telephone calls, emails and letters every week stating the same wish that the present executive officers be removed for being crazy as well as incompetent. This they can't ignore and it's all we've got right now until we get Congress back into Democratic hands if we can win an election ever again.

28. As long as Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment is still in effect
"Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican." ...

and as long as the republicans continue to put their party ahead of morals, ethics and laws, nothing is going to happen (sorry, I'm in a crappy mood today).

27. It's not happening
That's alot of time wasted on something that will probably not get enough votes in the Senate to actually boot the guy out. Whereas if we get the majority we could use that time to actually get real work done and curb the idiot from doing any more damage.

Anyhow who wants President Cheney?

he has to actually be out in front of the public. He is the real President you know, but all the crap he does gets blamed on *. With * no longer around he will be accountable and if a heart attack doesn't get him an empowered congress will.
