Air Force recruiting young soldiers to fight ... the TransFormers?
Well, no, not really. But it's interesting how the Air Force is a HUGE sponsor of Hollywood filming a movie targeting the 18-30 year old male demographic and pulling out all the stops to promote this movie.

3. They are also trying to get some to switch over
to the Army, but most would rather leave than join up for a chance to participate in the IED lottery in Iraq.

4. I thought in the blue-to-green deal, they weren't given a choice, from
what I've heard.

2. How completely lame. Why aren't they doing Robotech?
That was so much better than the Americanized tripe.

6. This has been going on for years
All branches of the military have been pulling Hollywood's leash for decades now. I remeber how twenty years ago there was a big stink concerning Platoon. See, it is standard military practice to aid Hollywood movie producers if they are making a film glorifying the military. On Top Gun they loaned planes and pilots to the producers, free of charge, along with free consulting help, uniforms, etc.

However when the producers of Platoon came around for such help, no was forthcoming. It seems that the military brass didn't like Platoon's underlying theme, and refused them any sort of help. Platoon's producers had to rent everything, and hire pilots, etc. at exhorbitant prices.

But hey, which one of those movies won an Oscar? Yep, Platoon.

7. It's odd
because we all know that the flying transformers are evil and the driving ones are good.
